Can they? Perhaps, but they won't say if they will, nor when it might happen. In any case, the place to ask for improvements is in the appropriate part of the Feature Requests & Suggestions forum, not here. I'm sure you'll find at least one existing request there where you could post your concurrence

It is important - JPG quality and file sizes from all Affinity apps is not great:
Also check this report out about what you see at 100% in Photo with different view quality settings (set in preferences)
In conclusion: Unoptimized low-quality JPG files with no preview before saving in "Affinity Photo – Professional Image Editing Software" ... not exactly what professionals would expect.

this is not ment as a comment but a BIG THANK YOU to affinity team for that christmas gift in the late summer. I am working with adobe for 20 years this year, I have quited they subscription in march out of the sudden as they shut down adobe muse, switched do you guys (and to quark xpress – which I unfortunatelly do not like that much) and was waiting for publisher to drop.
this tool is amazing. even in beta state. good job, much appreciated. THANK YOU.
