Hi, I just wanted to share something that may go unnoticed, but it's time consuming. 1. When you select a brush > it highlights in the list 2. Click inside the canvas > highlight removes. 3. Then you don't know which brush was selected. You have to hover over the brushes list again. When there are similar styles, many brushes can look the same in the list. I would suggest a setting in brushes panel to turn on/off a "BRUSH TOOLTIP". When activating the tooltip, on the canvas it goes away, then hovering on the pasteboard, the tooltip shows again - giving the name of the activated brush. Hope this makes some headway in the wishlist. I have a heck of a time seeing each and every brush image. (Haha, I just noticed it's doing right now in this editor when I'm not typing :-) When I move my mouse the tooltip is showing me where I am. LOL) Thanks - G.J.

Yep, I had that selected. It was the Google Dotz SVG Explorer Extension that was broken. It just stopped working. I think Windows update may have broke something. The Mystic Coder worked! I'm on the 14 day trial so I'll see if it holds, then I'll buy it. I works for all my apps too! Even EPS.

Hey thanks all for the input. Yes, it's the "Thumbnails" in Explorer that were not showing an image, only a black box. But when we tested again and opened the black box in Chrome the image showed. So we knew it wasn't Affinity! Therefore, I looked towards the Dotz SVG Explorer extension as the culprit (Remember I said PNG is fine). Because natively in Windows it's not common to view SVG graphics as image thumbnail, it'll normally show the application icon you have assigned to it. Dotz from Google, seems that code is old and not working again (probably based off of Windows updates). Then I downloaded Mystic Coder for my thumbnail default app, and I deleted Dotz... and it took over all thumbnail views in Explorer. I had to: 1. Delete thumbnail cache in Explorer 2. Refresh all individual files that were still showing a black box, then Mystic reassigned the thumbnail preview to it's app... and it worked. Sorry for the confusion, it wasn't Affinity. 3. If others have this issue download Mystic Coder: https://mysticcoder.net/ There's a 14 day trial and after that its 24. I'm on the trial so after 2 weeks we'll see if it still works.

LORD JESUS HALLELUYAAAAAAAA.... OMG! I just downloaded the trial for mystic... and I saw it in my search yesterday but didn't think to try the trial. I think I'm gonna have to buy the license. And email the dang developer and tell him how cool this script is. I can't believe I've wasted you guys' time on this. I spent 3 full days dude... ridiculous huh? I've working on an important style guide and I had to get all these font icons and vectors in prototype. Thanks for all your help, it's fixed for now, check out the image.

Oh okay no prob. So does your thumbnails show the file in explorer? I'm using Dotz from Google, but it stopped working I guess. I can't find any other thing to install that will show svg's in explorer as a thumbnail. Of course, if I change the file association for Affinity, it does show the Designer icon, but I don't get a thumbnail to view, only an icon. This code used to work too! Do know of any other script to view svg thumbnails?

No. It opens in Designer... it's the "thumbnail" in windows explorer. I don't SVG thumbnails to view in explorer. The .af files show fine. No svg views as thumbnails.

Aww dang I was afraid you were gonna say that... ha. So what viewer are you using for SVG in windows explorer? Is it Dotz? or who?

hmmm.. you think its related to exporting svg on windows??? That makes more sense to me. Can you relay this to dev team? Man I'm stuck then... pngs don't scale well on a dynamic site. I'm building a project in Webflow with all kinds of interactions and animation. Plus there's cards that need flexible vectors. Dang I HATE to go back to Photoshop...grrrr its expensive. But man if Ezra can't figure this one out its gonna be a mass-exodus I promise. They need to look at this seriously, all developers are going to be using svg. I don't know what to do now.

So in Xn & fileViewer there's no file when opened? Is there another SVG thumbnail viewer other than Dotz?

Yeah that's right! In Explorer its a black box, but in Notepad the code is there. In Chrome it shows the photo. In DrawPlus it shows. But when I export it, then try to reopen the black box file in Affinity I get a black transparent canvas!! I normally use Desiger to open SVG's or sometime Windows Photo. Sometimes Chrome, depending if I plan to work on it, or just view it. ** AND I think something is wrong with the DOTZ svg viewer I user. Which one do you use? I just deleted it, and changed DPlus to the extension, then I changed it back to Designer as the svg extension. Maybe its that viewer that's showing the black box. I just opened all the files again in DP & Designer and now they show objects, except 1 didn't... hmm man this is freaking strange. I've never had this happen.

What about reinstalling both Photo & Designer? Can you ask someone if they've heard of this because I have a deadline and I'm stuck. I didn't want to go back to DPlus or Photoshop again... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

What's weird is... if I open the files "open with" Chrome... all of the files show up fine!!! It's something with Designer & File Explorer... Dang

Dang no difference... here's my file it's showing there. I did this from Photo this time... see it shows in notepad 844-AFFPHOTO-1.svg 844-AFFPHOTO-1-NOTEPAD.svg

Yes. It didn't make a difference. Dang this is strange because I can export SVG anything other than photos, if I do colored shapes it works. I'm stumped and bit frustrated with deadline ... ha
