DM1 reacted to Pariah73 in Pixelated images
Well, I'm thinking that possibly the OP has bitten off more than they can chew, as it were. Here's a helpful resource for absolute beginners in graphic design. This should help you more. https://www.udemy.com/introduction-to-graphic-design/

DM1 got a reaction from Pariah73 in Pixelated images
The OP has been pointed to websites offering vector images, advised to download better quality raster images, shown how to colour in pixel studio with raster brushes, shown how to create simple vector drawings etc etc, so maybe you are right.
But then I wonder 'what will the OP do with vectorised images produced in Inkscape' (which unfortunately isn't available on the iPad)? I'd suggest trying Imaengine on the iPad as it has a free version, but the vectors created would be quite messy.
I suspect that at some point, if the OP wants to 'create' new images to post elsewhere, they are going to have to learn to use the features in the Affinity app (or find a simpler one). It’s worth taking the time to learn.

Try going into Files app, select Edit, turn off Dropbox then turn it back on. Make sure you can access Dropbox via Files app, then try Affinity again.

Josie, could you please stop posting the same questions in multiple threads. This is now becoming very confusing as your request has already been answered in another thread.

I think your objects were misaligned, I can replicate your result and also correct it using the transform-alignment tools.

Should be ok now. I had to reduce the video file size in luma fusion.

On closer inspection of your design, there isn’t much of it that is still vector, in particular the mask at the very bottom of the layer stack seems to contain the bulk of your design and it is a bitmap, perhaps you accidentally rasterised your vector design at an earlier step.?

DM1 got a reaction from Paul Mudditt in Black and White photos
Hi Jennie5, I like to colourise old photos too. I'm no 'expert' but find I get reasonable results using a mix of gradient maps, or fills with empty masks. The colour effect can be fine tuned using opacity settings and layer blend modes.
You select/highlight your main pixel image layer in the layer studio.
Add a gradient map or fill layer (I prefer the gradient map as it applies colour based on lightness and darkness in the image). If a gradient map I find it useful to save the map too, for later use.
Selecting the gradient map, go to channel studio and invert the mask. If you used a fill layer you will need to apply an empty mask.
Now sect the mask layer, choose a brush and set the colour to white (with masks White reveals and Black conceals).
Paint where you want the colour to show.
I have attached the file for you to have a play with.

Yes, they have been a number of requests for this. Updates are long overdue but Serif are beta testing a 1.7 version on desktops with new features. Hopefully these will port across to the iPad before the years ends. The Shortcuts app is just a workaround until Serif do something to fix this.

DM1 got a reaction from Paul Mudditt in Affinity on iPad joining images
True enough, but it’s nice to know how to do it in case there is a need at some future time.
The beauty of the Affinity apps is there ability to achieve outcomes in so many different ways. People can generally find a method that supports there preferred workflow rather than being limited to doing it the 'one' way.

Select the image layer and convert it to pixel (Rasterise). Now with both layers selected tap Merge layers. You can tidy up the cats head by adding a mask and painting on the mask with a black yo clean up edges, You can add a fill layer to fill in missing black. File attached.

Hi LeslieHedgesDesign, I'm not having any issues exporting your file as an SVG.
My default settings.

Yes use the object creation preset under preferences in Designer or Photo.

You could create a Shortcut (using iOS Shortcuts) to have Open in Affinity Photo. As long as the amyloid share list shows Shortcuts, you can share with any app now.
Settings for a Affinity Photo shortcut shown below. Once created, tap Share in amyloid, tap Shortcuts and tap the Affinity Photo shortcut.

DM1 reacted to AffinityAppMan in Pantone colours
There is still no way to assign a tint or screen percentage of a pantone color on the iPad.
There is still no way to search pantone colors.
Serif has done a good job, but these features are important for pro work.

DM1 got a reaction from katerlouis in Help understand masking in iOS AP please
Hi Katerlouis, you can do it either way in Affinity Photo.
Select the image and add your filter. Now add empty mask layer and the drag the mask layer over the filter layer. Paint in white to reveal filter effect or black to conceal. In AP an empty mask layer is effectively filled with black so conceals everything.

When you refine the selection, tap the little triangle next to right side of context menu, tap it again. Now in output menu you can select output as mask, or better yet output as mask on new layer. Curve adjustment applied now will effect only selection.

You can merge the layers if you like (although you’d have to rasterize the ‘Image’ layer first) but there’s no need. When you export the finished project to JPEG, PNG or TIFF it will all be flattened anyway.

DM1 got a reaction from Paul Mudditt in Verifying the file location
All files are stored internally (sandbox) while being edited. If you don’t do a manual save at some stage to create the .afphoto or .afdesign file, they will remain sandboxed. That’s why I like to do it up front so future saves effect both sandbox and folder versions.
That would be handy. A workaround (as mentioned by Paul earlier), is to use Files app to browse to the Affinity folders, both the apps and any you created, (on device or cloud) and look for the .afphoto/design file. If you can't find one then it is just sandboxed. Oh, and remember all files in Affinity's own folders are 'subject to deletion' if you remove the app!
