  1. In some cases Adobe apps such as Fresco, take ownership of file types, preventing access by other apps. Have you installed any Adobe apps?
  2. Sorry I can’t fault it. I don’t have a screen protector though. Maybe the mods will have better luck.
  3. Are you copying /pasting a symbol? There is a known bug that results in crashing.
  4. Documents app by Readdle (free) has a built in File manager that can access the Photo Library. You just need to create a Folder on iPad (say in the Documents folder and use Documents app to move the raw files to that folder. Now use Affinity Photo's Open from Cloud to navigate to Documents folder to open the raw file. No internet needed, 🙂
  5. I’m inclined to think it’s simply a bug affecting all platforms. There has been no change to ui. I suspect portions of code are similar across platforms hence duplication of issue. But, you may be right! 😁
  6. If it’s a large file maybe try deleting history, that’s takes up ram too. Make sure you save regularly.
  7. Could you provide a little more information? What actions are you doing when the app crashes? Does it only happen on the one file? Have you closed all other apps while running photo? Have you done a hard reset on your iPad to clear out ram? What app version are you running and what iOS version?
  8. If you tap on the gutter adjustment symbol you should get a pop up numerical keyboard allowing you to enter numbers. Do you not get the numerical keyboard? If not, that is another bug. Closing and reopening the keyboard results in the keyboard position shifting (possibly related to an earlier beta bug effecting colour wheel position).
  9. Hi LuckylaqHer, I'm not seeing that issue on my iPad. You appear to be doing it correctly too. Could you attach a file with that problem and I’ll see if it happens on my iPad too. That will show if it is file related.🙂
  10. Lol, not when you are in private browsing mode and have set it to clear history on closing. 😉
  11. Saving is important as it creates an accessible file that you can backup. Without saving your file is only in iPads app sandbox and you can’t access it any other way. Think of unsaved files as 'tabs' in a browser. Close the tab and your file is gone and cannot be recovered!
  12. I think mods have reported intermittent failure to save as a bug. To be sure it has saved in the meantime, use the 3bar menu on Home Screen.🙂
  13. Also the Gutter keyboard pops up in top left corner of screen when closing (You can still add individual guides). IMG_4822.MP4
  14. Are you 'Saving' your work or simply relying on the app’s sandbox version. If the latter, that is a very poor work practice (sorry, but true). To save your file (ie. create a .afdesign file that can be copied/moved/backed up), you need to tap Save in the Home screens 3bar menu (under the files Home Screen image) When saved this way you will have an accessible file created in the default save location (Designer folder on iPad or iCloud). This also creates a Save option in the Workscreen Document menu. The sandbox version is virtually inaccessible to any other app and cannot be backed up. If it glitches you are generally unable to recover it. (Mods may be able to offer suggestions).Sometimes creating a copy using Home Screen 3bar menu provides another sandbox file that 'MAY' open. If not you may have to start again😩 For the future, Create your file and immediately SAVE it. Now your edits will update a real file. Back the file up regularly and if the working copy is ever corrupted, you should have a recent backup to revert to.
  15. When you Save your file you are creating a .afdesign file (Affinity’s proprietary format). The files location will be the Designer folder on your iPad or on iCloud. You can use Files app to copy/move the file from your iPad to another location. If on iCloud you can open directly from pc affinity version with Open from Cloud.
  16. @Paul Mudditt hi Paul, you must have had a pixel selected somewhere. I just did a change to Selection Persona and tapped Deselect from menu. Then paint brush worked again. I’ve been caught out before. 😀
  17. @Paul Mudditt Interestingly you can delete all the layers and the problem persists. Almost like protect alpha has locked on. Does it work on desktop?
  18. iPads have very limited ram compared to a desktop computer and when you have complex designs you have iOS managing how that limited ram is distributed among open apps. When switching apps, iOS may reallocate ram used by one app that has lost screen focus to another app that has gained it. I’ve seen a number of reports here from people losing work because they changed app focus leaving Designer in background, (it’s thought that this loss of work is due to ram reallocation) but I don’t recall anyone losing work after saving before switching. I feel the app should be able to manage ram better but currently it is what it is and we work around it’s limitations. The mods here may have something to say re the apparent non saving after tapping save (that is odd behaviour and may be related to the number of background apps running leading to ram shortage but I’m just guessing). I would just add that if working on complex designs it’s a good practice to close other apps while running affinity. Let’s it have the sole use of the iPads limited supply of ram. Also, occasionally do a hard reset of the iPad to clear out ram. This actually resolves many issues on iPad (yes it’s getting like Windows in that respect). Hopefully the mods can assist with your issue.
  19. That alone wouldn’t have worked (erase blend does) but for the future if you want to access subtract menu from an object that converts to multiple curves I have found you need to select the individual curve layers and then use Merge Curves, not select the folder the curves are placed into. Selecting the curve layers (not the folder) reveals the subtract option. I'm not sure if this is by design. To use the Subtract method: Convert the text to curves and merge the resulting curve layers using Merge Curves. Now select both the text (merged) layer and the shape layer above it and tap Expand Stroke. Now use Geometry Subtract to remove top layer (shape) from text layer. As you can see... it’s much easier to set blend mode of shape layer to Erase! 😀
  20. That’s odd. Where are your files stored? What is your default save location? How are you opening the files that don’t save? What happens to let you know when it’s necessary to use gallery save? Could you describe your workflow, it might help determine what is happening, maybe a screen recording if you can reproduce the issue.
  21. I suspect a lot of functionality exists under the hood in iPad, just no ui interface to access it. Hence the support for features contained in desktop files.
  22. You can’t at this time. There have been requests for this feature and we wait patiently. In the meantime you could set up a custom grid spacing if that helps.
  23. Create a file, open workscreen Document menu, select Save a Copy, name and tap save. At this point you can now navigate to a location of your choice (jobs folder/sub folders) and save the file there. Just remember to remove the file from Home Screen then use Open from Cloud, navigate to your selected folder, open your file and edit away. In Documents menu you now have a new Save option. Using this or using the Home Screen Save will now update the open file in its saved (jobs folder/sub folder) location. Open from Cloud can access any storage source available to iOS through Files app. Any file you open this way will update the original file when saving. Sounds arduous but once you do it a few times it’s straightforward. 🙂
  24. What method are you using to try to open the file? Options include dragndrop, open from cloud, import from cloud, open from files app, open from shortcuts and possibly more if using Share sheet from other apps...... a recording would have clarified the method/steps involved (which is why the moderator has requested one), what type of raw file are you attempting to open? where is it located?
