I don’t think so. Could you provide a sample of the shape you wish to apply transparency to? If an expanded curve layer a way to achieve the desired effect could be to Duplicate layer, set the stroke to transparent and apply transparency tool. In other layer set fill to transparent. Solid outline transparency applied to fill only.

My understanding is that currently V2 doesn’t default to either local or cloud. Indeed the option to do so appears to have been removed from settings. Saving now allows a choice of any available storage location. I would assume if you navigate to and store a file in iCloud, then the Apps using iCloud setting would be turned on.🙂

Yes, seeing the same. If you swipe left on a layer you get a menu that offers “Add to Selection ”. Does this mean none are initially selected?

In the brush tool context menu change menu from none to pressure.

I can confirm this does work. You need to do two quick taps in the centre of the screen as soon as the splash screen logo appears (see image). It’s all in the timing. You need to be quick🙂

There is a hard to see icon next to mask icon in context menu (grey square with black circle in centre).Tap the faint icon on the right of that to convert the pen outline to selection. Then long press screen for quick menu and tap Duplicate select or use keyboard. You can check icon functions with small ?

It appears the option to select a “default “ location has been removed, possibly to allow users to select any destination. You can still save to iCloud but will need to select iCloud when saving the first time. After that use Open Document to access saved file and saves will be made back to the source (iCloud) folder.

A screen shot showing your layer studio would help but for now make sure you have the correct layer selected in layer studio (it should be highlighted when selected). You mention a rasterised image but again, check the layer is labelled raster and not image. If you place a raster image you will need to rasterise it again to make pixel selections as it will be placed as an image layer.🙂

No, it in your Purchased apps list. Open App Store. Tap on your I’d top right corner on App Store (you need to be logged in to Apple account used to buy v1. Tap on Purchased and scroll through your purchased apps. V1 will have a cloud symbol. Tap to reinstall. 🙂

John McEnroe moment “You gotta be kidding me!”. 😬 Seriously though, why would the same image appear differently in Designer than in Photo but only in Studio Link and, have this occur “by Design”? It makes absolutely no sense.

Filter Erase white paper. Quick and easy. It effects whole pic so not good for those with white in picture.🙂

Rename was removed as it caused issues. (It only updated the Live Doc name, not the external file name). Your only options are: 1. to use three bar menu Save as to create a copy that you can name again or, 2. Save the LiveDoc externally (three bar menu/save). Close the live doc (this deletes the internal file so save first or lose your document). Open Files app, navigate to previously saved file, rename file. Open file again in Affinity (this creates a new icon and a new internal file. Yes it’s a pain but until Affinity come up with a fix, it’s all we can do.🙁

Make sure you have a hard brush selected if you want sharply defined erasing. Brush properties will effect operation.

That omission has been referred to devs, so it may disappear in next iteration 🤔

Just to clarify by Project you are referring to the folder created by New Project? If so, my mistake. I was referring to saving files. Unfortunately Project folders are limited in use to the Home Screen in the app. They cannot be exported or saved outside the app. A far better approach is to create suitably named Project folders with Files app either in iCloud or on your device. Your AP files can be saved directly into these folders. These can be backed up or moved to another device (unlike files held in the app itself). If you use the Open Document (rather than import Doc), you can navigate to the desired folder and open your file. When you save your work (3bar menu on Home Screen) the edits will be saved back to the folder.

Toastkittens issue is that the exported file appears blurry. In another post, Lee D has suggested following settings to try: I've been doing some tests creating a 100x100 pixel document and then making sure the following are set. View Mode is set to Pixel Snapping to full pixels is enabled but move by whole pixels is off. Pixel based grid and snapping to grid on. On the Layer panel, set the Blend Range to Antialiasing, Force Off.

Hi Lee, I created a new 100x100px doc with the settings you suggested. Still losing pixels in preview. Edit: I have modified post heading to be accurate. Export is exporting all pixels with these settings(last image). It seems the Preview rendering is the real issue? File attached. missing pixelxs.afdesign

You can, but only up to 400dpi. This surely has to be a bug as there is no logical reason for limiting. Post should be moved to Designer bug forum. 🤔

Hi Lellie, sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you tried doing a hard reset of your iPad? It can help with some issues. Can you open files from other locations or is it just photos?

It’s true that the iPads app features are lacking in several areas, but show me an alternative iPad app that can do everything, and that is in the same price range. At least the iPad honours those extra settings made in desktop file versions. Instead of complaining about the shortcomings of the Export Persona on iPad (compared to desktop), perhaps you could make a feature request to have the desired additional settings added to those currently available on iPad. That would be more productive in the long run. 🙂

In pixel mode draw a shape with pixel brush and then export as png. In preview it can be seen that many pixels are missing.

There appears to be a bug in Designer relating to rendering pixels. I will post a bug report in the Desiner forum🙂
