  1. I’d like to bump this again. Still unable to open an OCIO config file. Using an OCIO config is listed as a feature for iPad Photo. It would be nice to be able to use it. The problem was first reported 9 months ago and still not addressed.
  2. You’d need to spell the name correct. You are missing a “g” at the end.🙂
  3. iPadOS 16.4 It’s works in Designer, but not in Photo.
  4. Thanks Walt. I hadn’t checked in actual workspace. I just assumed locking would lock them everywhere.
  5. Testing on latest release, you can drag out of V1 and position file on V2 Home Screen (it shows the green plus but on releasing it, the file no longer appears on V2 Home Screen. 🙁
  6. So do Apple just need to add .config to the file types that Files app can read and we’ll all be happy? How to get Apple to do that?🤔
  7. Toggling the lock in Guide settings has no effect on guide movement. How do we lock guides in position? RPReplay_Final1684552970.mp4
  8. I’ve seen several posts complaining that we can’t open files directly from Apple photo library, so I thought I’d post how to do this with a shortcut. You need to download the Shortcuts app if you don’t already have it. It’s Apples own app and it’s free. https://apps.apple.com/au/app/shortcuts/id1462947752 Open the Shortcuts app and follow the 2 videos below. The first video shows how to create a shortcut for Designer, but you could select any app eg. Photo or Publisher. It works the same way. You could for example create separate shortcuts for V1 apps and V2 Affinity apps, allowing you to open in either version. You’ll need to name each of your shortcuts before you exit the app or they won’t be saved. The 2nd video shows how to make the shortcut more easily accessible in your share sheet by editing the share sheet. I hope you find it useful. 9. Hi Manfred, that result is to be expected. This action resets assets panel, so yes it will remove any assets currently there. When assets “disappear” due to a recurring bug, we are often unable to reload any assets at all. That is when resetting the assets panel helps. After resetting we can once again reload our missing assets. 🙂
  10. I think so, yes. Restart Designer and as soon as splash screen shows do a quick double tap to get a reset menu (see image below). Reset assets there. Turn off anything you don’t want to reset first. Then click reset.🙂
  11. Yikes, wrong app, I missed by a mile,😂. Yes, Photo had same tool. Both changed in latest update. I see what you mean about Move tool switching.
  12. I have several raw files saved in photo library and they open in raw edit mode. If you have files saved on iCloud you may only have jpg on iPad (space saving). Try downloading the raw file from cloud first RPReplay_Final1684492688.mp4
  13. If you tap colour picker on the pop out menu it stays set to colour picker until you set it to Style. Wherever you tap it picks up the colour. Am I missing the issue? RPReplay_Final1684489218.mp4
  14. As a user of Affinity Photo, I too would like to again use my OCIO configs. I can’t see how Affinity are responsible though. The correct config file is located by the Affinity software. Apple Files app simply cannot read it. The compatibility issue is not between Affinity Photo and OCIO package. Close all Affinity apps and use the Files app to open your config file. It will appear empty. How is that anything to do with Affinity? My Readdle Documents app can open the same config file and read the content, so why can’t Files app. How can Affinity be expected to load config data if the Apple’s Files app doesn’t make available? I’d use the analogy that it’s a bit like blaming a car manufacturer for the engine not running when the service stations won’t supply any fuel for the car. No point blaming the car. Clearly, Files app was capable of reading these files in at least one previous iOS version, but Apple broke it sometime during iOS 15 and haven’t bothered fixing it. To be fair, I do believe Affinity should be doing more to highlight and resolve this issue with Apple (but maybe they are). Meantime I’ll just wait and see. Not much choice really.🙂
  15. Great work Serif team. Many improvements.🙂 Affinity Photo on iPadOS still unable to access an OCIO config file , which will disappoint many users as this feature has been unavailable in version 2 on the iPad. 🙁 A feature that worked on iPads in version 1 but not in version 2. Probably it’s because Files app can no longer open file type “.config” files. This shouldn’t be hard to fix but may need Apple involvement.
  16. I think this is an iOS issue. Files app is unable to read the config file. Documents app can read it. Apple need to fix Files app’s viewer. Perhaps Serif can persue this with Apple as they don’t respond to individuals.
  17. Not having used Photoshop for a decade I am assuming from what you described, that it behaves differently to Affinity photo. Changing dpi with Resample off, in AffinityPhoto affects print quality, it does not have any effect on print size. V1 and V2 behave the same. Testing with latest beta: My original image is 8x6 at 300dpi. Export size 2400x1800px. Open resize and change dpi to 100dpi. Turn off Resample and tap the tick to accept settings change. Export photo. My new Export size is 800x600px Note: A 2400x1800px image prints 8x6 at 300dpi. A 800x600px image prints 8x6 at 100 dpi (same size, reduced quality). That outcome is what I would expect. The vertical / horizontal resize sliders settings only take effect if resampling is turned on. Examples.
  18. You can save each project externally then use copy paste or save straight to cloud. Alternatively just back up your iPad and restore to new device.
  19. When resizing, changing units from px to cm for document, the slider controls units don’t change to match context toolbar selected units. Have to be manually changed. Manually changing slider units from px to cm results in huge numbers (probably still px) and total lack of control to adjust (too sensitive). Size can be set by typing in entry value. 20. Yes, unless you purchased the universal license which covers all platforms. Creating a large canvas on iPad (210x4)x(297x3) then setting guides at 4 rows and 3 columns with zero gutters/margins should work. Draw your pattern, then in Export persona create 12 A4 slices around the guides. You can print slices individually. Here’s an example with 12 A4 panels and slices. 4x3 A4 pattern canvas.afdesign
  21. Was setting up a test with large canvas divided into 12 A4 panels (4 row x 3 columns). Returning to Home Screen and then reopening file caused guide positions to display incorrectly. Incrementing then decrementing setting value restored original guide display. Tried in rel version and no issue. IMG_1928.MOV
  22. Thanks @stokerg. I can report it’s working perfectly in the photo 2 beta. Makes things much easier!😁👍
  23. Turn on Show touches in setting preferences. Every touch will show a blue circle.🙂
  24. Is there any reason that when placing images in Designer or Photo there is no option to select multiple images (as done when access is via Publisher). I can place multiple images on canvas but have to select and add each one individually.
