  1. Hi Chris, Thanks for your reply and much appreciated. Please find file attached. 1F7A0301 (1).cr3
  2. It is not clear whether the new R6 Mk2 should be considered to be a supported camera in AP 2 so I tested a sample CR3 supplied by a friend. (Windows 10, AP 2.0.4, R6 Mk2 Firmware 1.0.0.) At first sight, it appears to work as expected but on close examination of some CR3 files, there is a magenta-tinged vertical line 2 pixels wide up the left-hand border - see screen shot attached. Is this something that will be addressed at some future supported cameras update or should it be regarded as a bug in the R6 support? The Mk2 was released in November 2022 so it could be quite some time before libraw etc updates permeate through. I have checked other sample R6 Mk2 CR3 files from other cameras downloaded from e.g. dpreview to check it is not a camera fault. Thanks for any info.
  3. Thanks for all your replies and suggestions to Helen's post. I am a fellow camera club member and will attempt to investigate her problem in depth in about 2 weeks time. Meanwhile, it has been been quite a complicated story. Initially she thought her problem was due to her HP laptop so it has just been upgraded to 16GB Ram and an SSD to replace a HDD. The laptop is much faster however her problem still persists so we've reverted back to 1.8.5 so she can at least process images. The problem with adjustments to a Curves Adjustment layer appears to start with updates 1.9.0 and continues into 1.10.1 and we've tried enabling/disabling OpenCL and various other things to no avail. I will be in a position in a couple of weeks time to follow up on suggestions and any ideas where to begin would be much appreciated! 4. Hi, As I said in my post, there is nothing in that folder for Photo! However after some more searching, I have found the licence located in C:\Program Files\Affinity\Affinity Photo\licence.xml I presume it was moved when v1.8 was brought out. For Designer, it is where you mentioned but I can't find Publisher's licence anywhere. Regards, Chris
  5. I would like to deactivate the Affinity Photo 1.8 on a laptop so I can hand it to another AP user who would then enter his own registration details. I have found various previous posts on a similar theme that suggest deleting the licence.xml file in the hidden directory C:\ProgramData\Affinity\Photo\1.0. In File Explorer but all this has are two further empty subfolders for lensprofiles and plugins. Thanks in advance for any help, Chris
  6. I ordered mine on Thursday afternoon via the Affinity store and it arrived Friday morning: amazingly fast given we are in rural Dorset! An absolutely lovely book which will be very useful not only in getting fully to grips with AP (after many years of PS and PSElements) but offering a lot about new techniques too. Congratulations to all those who made this book.
  7. Thanks Toltec for the fast response, and for sorting me out on the Restore issue. For the other item, I think changing my tools to display in a 2 or 3 column arrangement is making it easier for my eyes (and you get the foreground/background switch)! Regards, Chris
  8. I'm enjoying getting familiar with Photo (on Windows 10) it but have two simple questions please... 1) If I minimise an image by clicking the top right hand "-" symbol after I have undocked the image, there does not seem to be any way to restore it. 2) Is there any way to increase the size of the Tool Icons in the left hand tool dock (at least while I get more familiar with them)? Thanks in advance, Chris
  9. Many thanks for that Alfred, and sorry I forgot to say I was using AP! It does seem a strange behaviour and thanks for your tip about the Transform Panel which I hadn't discovered. And thanks too Toltec! Yes, it looks as if Placing is a much more appropriate way to do what I want and gives me full control. I know I've got a lot to learn but AP already seems much more powerful and flexible to what I'm used to.
  10. Hi, I'm using the 10-day Trial on Windows 10 so this is my 1st post. (A long time user of PS Elements and other software.) I'm dragging an extra image from a Windows Folder in as an additional layer with exactly the same dimensions/pixels/dpi/etc as the Background pixel layer but I am finding the new layer it is being scaled around 223% larger than the background layer. I haven't found anyway to make it scale to 100% when being dropped. Neither can I find any way to resize this new layer other than laboriously dragging the corner. I assume I'm missing something obvious! Regards, Chris
