3 bugs with cropping in develop persona
NotMyFault replied to NotMyFault's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
Both topics are related. I actually don’t want to expand the area on its own, it is only a workaround for the missing reveal option. If you activate lens correction, relevant parts may get clipped of. It is easier to spot something missing if it is visible in the cut-off area. BTW reveal is available in Photo Persona. Seems has been implemented long ago for a good reason - which applies even more in Develop Persona. -
I would suggest a simple test: opening a test file with sRGB profile in Photo (we need info panel) add a rectangle of canvas size and assign a black to white gradient horizontally Use the info panel color sampler. Set the second to HSL mode. Hover over the gradient and check RGB sampler shows RGB all identical valies HSL shows saturation zero take a screenshot of screen and save as PNG place PNG into opened document, so it covers the lower half. activate move tool. The colors must be identical in top and bottom half. Save file with history. make another screenshot and upload both file and screenshot here. Do the same process w.g. With MS Paint or any other capable app.

Develop / crop and rotate: wrong auto size of cropped area
NotMyFault replied to NotMyFault's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
Not in the captured video. intentionally kept mouse button pressed all the time. If you release mouse, everything gets more wired as the then current cropped area gets used and the size doesn’t get increased if reducing rotation again. -
Develop / crop and rotate: wrong auto size of cropped area
NotMyFault replied to NotMyFault's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
For me it is unclear how „last used crop“ is defined. Despite setting the crop manually from 3:2 to 1:1. the next crop action started with 3:2 again. What do you need to do to let Photo remember a crop as last used? -
I would really ditch this display. I had a Dell 2408 which I loved and though it was a marvel high price and semi-professional wide gamut at it’s time, lots of input, sRGB and AdobeRGB color modes, 10 bit color channel support, etc). But after switching to a modern LG34WK950 I could see how crappy it has become because everything else hat evolved so much and CTFL is total crap. current 24 inch display are dirt cheap now.

Which display do you use? Please provide the exact model name from windows and a photo of the label on the back of the display. Some Displays can be configured via on-screen menu or via app from vendor. Check especially color profile / color mode. It should be set to sRGB is available. white point brightness HDR mode active? if Using HDMI cable: check if input channel on Display is set to PC or TV mode. Windows allows color calibration for displays (in parallel to color profiles), please try to reset those settings. Some GPU have software to tweak colors, please check and reset to default if activated.

boolean operators work only on closed curves, not on open curves. So in Designer you can use "Expand Curves" to convert the lines into closed curves, and then boolean add. In Photo, you can use rectangular shapes instead of lines to achieve the same result. Never the less, if you want to go ahead with strokes alone you could use "Merge Curves" to get one layer with all curves.

Display chnages to black when I remove last artboard
NotMyFault replied to Lutz Pietschker's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
And why not simply use undo / history? This works before closing the file, and even after closing if you enable „save with history“ -

All layers are still present, only far outside the visible canvas. Just select all layers, and create a new artboard, and move all layers as child to the artboard. Alternatively, you can go to document setup and enlarge the canvas size by factor 10. Or open the file in Photo and use „unclip canvas“. No bug in my view. -
This method does work only for straight lines, but not for general curves, take a circle as example. The correct answer would be a circle with 3cm larger / smaller diameter, not a circle just moved by 3 cm. In Affinity Designer you could use the contour tool for a closed curve. If you have an open curve, you need to close it temporary and mask out the unwanted part later.

Even in case Affinity allows more decimal digits you will run into potential issues: if the slice h/w are no multiple of 8, you will get fractional pixel sizes, rounded up to whole pixels by Affinity during export. This rounding can lead to small deviations from intended aspect ratio may create thin lines at right and bottom edges due to partial alpha You have no visual control over anti-aliasing and sharpness when scaling size at export and many more adverse effects (moire for fine-detailed patterns). So I really do not understand choosing this workflow (with scaling by odd float numbers at export) if your target is to get pixel-perfect exports.

I don't know how to title this...

Like so? open file select all red layers, and use geometry-> add select red layer and black head use geometry-> subtract select head layer assign white color in color panel
