They probably dont have access to much "material" to train "clean" datasets as Adobe Stock has. Thats very expensive and most competitors locked in theirs data.

man, there is something weird in that Affinity LOGO maybe its time for a shape change To me it doesnt even fit to that font. What does even Affinity logo represents? Is there some idea behind it?

It will take about 2-3 years for subscription transfer to happen, at that time GIMP will have non-destructive editing too. (after many years of huge rewrite, long awaited 3.0 is almost ready). For me personally i didnt have anything interesting out of V2 either, whole V2 feels to me like "maintenance mode" with big jumps in versioning. Many of the most wanted stuff are still rotting in archived "Feedback for the Affinity V1 Products" forum section with no sight of implementation. but im also bit spoiled with fast development of Blender where i can read daily commits, roadmaps, devs meetings etc...

i have some crazy idea, could you try disable (shutdown) all background software - all that Asus, motherboard, various updaters, even gaming platforms like Steam/Origin etc running in background? maybe even try without wacom software running There is also another potential problem, R9 380 is no longer supported and lastest drivers are from JUN 2022 (almost 2 years old). so it could be some HW acceleration issue. (AMD has rewritten whole OpenGL stack in drivers after support of your GPU was dropped - end of 2022) Mine 1.x was freezing in 5-30mins of work because of background running software all the time which was annoying, could not even listen to podcast running minimized in a browser...

cat is out of the bag, noone can stop it i recommend you to adapt or start learning some other profession too. How will you compete in another 10 years? In the end AI will do creative jobs for consumer and human will fixing the plumbing... Another tomb stone, just right next to translation profession. But dont be sad, white collars are next on chopping board, they are too expensive, even programmers themselves.

Hope some more exciting features will come to Affinity Photo, reading changelogs for V2+ branch feels more like a maintenance mode I was kind of expecting opposite with inflow of new monies from people upgrading.

its kind of interesting how that turned out, i just hope they made some really large changes under the hood and we will see some big things later when new flow of money from v2 licenses comes in. (i was expecting bit different direction for v2 launch)

im on win 7 too (will upgrade in coming months) but i know that it was told on the forum by a team member (it was not prime subject of the topic) long time ago (months/years) that V2 will not support Win 7, maybe it was in beta forum section ?

AF Photo V2.0 i just hope for tillable procedural filters with better fidelity (they are kind of blurry/mushy looking). Better fx layers (glow fx is kind of worst than PS, dont know if its need more samples or what but glow gradient looks more fine in PS and better following shape on bezier and circle objects). Better font engine smaller font looks blurry (kind of broken too) missing crispness, blend options dont help much. dont need another new video editing software which is worst then others, there is Davinci Resolve, Vegas which is at last 2 times a year on HumbleBundle for 25-30 euros sale, and free Blender with video editing capability and compositor and more free softwares which i didnt tried like Shortcut or Openshot... what i would like to see is new node based compositing software on the market, there isnt much choices. (Nuke/Natron) 3D texture painting would be also good but substance isnt that expensive (steam sale, perpetual), 3D Coat textura (cheaper) also there is ArmorPaint for 20 euros and for blender Fluent Materializer for 35 USD but they are based more on a texture projection/stamping workflow, substance is more procedural.

yep seen that on jpegxl reddit hope google stop being stup*d and revert it (maybe later). on website i have WebP and fallback JPG version too and showing only best supported by a browser, was thinking about adding AVIF but it was worst compared to WebP or JpegXL and i didnt seen any encoder development for a long time

Just added JpegXL images on my website as alternative if support is enabled in a web browser, filesize vs quality is amazing! maybe just do limited OpenCL acceleration ? just for display output and not for file output? something more safe than current usage. (like PS) Nvidia has CUDA, AMD dont care about OpenCL anymore, they have HIP now and recommending use it instead of OpenCL. Whats the actual state of OpenCL across vendors now? I really wanted to see effort going more into better font solution, better procedural filters etc. instead of never ending clusterf*ck with OpenCL acceleration.

I dont know if its that issue but i have found that if i uncheck embed ICC profile and embed metadata in Export -> More... exported image has better quality. its few months ago when i test it so dont know if its apply anymore.

February, its 1.9.0 or 1.9.1 ? i still have 1.9.0 (February 4th) installed so i can try to make some large files and upgrade to 1.9.2 and try it if it will crash? (i dont have 1.9.1 (February 25th)) Maybe something will be in eventviewer? winkey+R -> eventvwr.msc -> windows logs Hope its not memory stability issue
