Much as Serif did with Affinity 1.9, then 1.10. They never got to 1.11, but they could have if they hadn't decided to switch to version 2.0 instead.

As for whether it is known, a quick search of this forum for the term ruler gives this result list, with your report as most recent and another earlier one:

Again, duplicating an existing stroke pressure profile is not a function provided with the Line Width Tool. There's no "copy" function. If you have an existing object with a pressure profile you're better off saving that profile, or possibly using the Style Picker.
I've no idea. But thanks for the new file.

I probably would not use the Line Width Tool for that, as duplicating another object's stroke doesn't seem to be one of its advertised purposes/capabilities.
B already has a pressure profile. So, with B selected, in the Stroke panel you can click on the profile, then Save Profile.
Then select A, and in the Stroke panel click on the pressure profile, and double-click on the saved profile to set A's pressure profile to exactly match the saved one from B.

You also have the option of using the Adobe DNG Converter to create a RAW file that Affinity Photo should be able read, or Canon’s own DPP software if you’re happy to develop your images separately before opening them in Affinity Photo.

You do have the option, on a Mac, of using the Apple Raw Engine instead of the Serif Engine. You can change that in the Assistant Settings, by clicking the button to set the Develop Assistant Settings.
You might see if that helps.

It's quite likely I added it thinking about it, more so as there isn't one in the Pixel Perona of Publisher. I think the keyboard shortcut in Photoshop is Cmd H so that may be more appropriate for those Photoshop users with muscle memory...

There appears to be no default shortcut on Windows.

That is a Variable font, and that kind of font is not supported in the Affinity applications yet. The initial support will come in the 2.5.0 Beta, but is not yet present in the current beta build:
You can help test it, if you want, by joining the beta program if you're not already a member. More details att:

I think my question was off-topic because I had forgotten the basic concept of this image editing software.
(I usually only use CAD software.) If you rasterize (pixelize) the multiple images you load,
you can transform, rotate, and move them in a variety of ways.
    thank you.

Fair enough. I do expect the discussion to refocus on Variable Font support proper, when it becomes available/exposed in the UI/whatever, because at this point, it's mostly a teaser.

walt.farrell reacted to MikeTO in Minor translation issues
I wasn't sure whether these were issues or just feedback.
Maths (English US): Text > Insert > "Maths" - in North America we use "Math" or "Mathematics" or "Mathematical" but never "Maths" so perhaps the US English translation could be changed to just "Math".
Teilen (German): Text > Insert > Divide is translated as "Teilen" which is also the translation for Share (which is always translated that way). I think the issue is that the menu uses Multiply and Divide as short forms of Multiplication and Division symbols which would be translated differently. Division symbol in German: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geteiltzeichen
Align Left/Right (German): Text > Alignment > Align Left/Right are translated as "Linksbündig" and "Rechtsbündig" while Layer > Alignment > Align Left/Right are translated as "Links ausrichten" and "Rechts ausrichten". I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if that is correct but the Context Toolbar's Alignment popup window uses Linksbündig/Rechtsbündig in its tooltips, so the Layer commands and tooltips need to be, um, aligned.
Show All (German): Affinity Publisher 2 > Show All is translated as "Alle einblenden" while Layer > Show All is translated as "Alles einblenden". Google tells me the former means Show All while the latter means Show Everything so they're probably both fine but it seems odd.

    I would disagree.
That thread is specifically for discussing the Variable Font support coming in the 2.5.0 beta, not for general font-related discussions. It should be restricted to its stated purpose, to help the beta run smoothly.

Note that in V2, you can:
Set the Develop Persona to Develop to a RAW layer. Click Develop to return to the Photo Persona. Setup Guides using the Rulers and Move Tool. Click Develop Image on Context Toolbar to return to the Develop Persona, and continue working. You can also configure a Grid, and then use View > Show Grid.

Thanks everyone.  I'm not sure I understand.  Both of my text are inside the circle so I don't think it works.
walt.farrell mentioned using Alt and clicking and that works a treat so I'll carry on with that.
    I really appreciate everyone's help.

Banal, but I though the half line meant it was checked but then I realised there are three states to that checkbox, off, line and checked.
Thanks to you and Walt and all who have chimed in on this thread, this is a great community and I am grateful for the assistance.

Also, note that the Macro panel is in the Left Studio by default, and the Left Studio is hidden by default in Photo. So, you might also need Window > Studio > Show Left Studio.
