For clarification in v2 with a facing pages document when a right-hand facing page is the active page and selected in the Pages Panel:
Selecting Current Page displays the left-facing page in the preview window.
Selecting Current Page with an object that appears on the Master Page, e.g., a text frame or on-page text that sits in a Master Page text frame selected displays the left-facing page in the preview window.
Selecting Current Page with an object drawn directly on the publication page selected displays the right-facing page in the preview window.

I don't know but I bet it's for the same reason that macOS sometimes doesn't show spelling options for underlined words and sometimes doesn't underline misspelled words - Apple's implementation of Hunspell is buggy. It probably worked properly at one time but became unreliable at some point over the years. This is an area where Windows users may be better off because Serif implemented Hunspell on their own rather than relying on the OS.

walt.farrell got a reaction from GarryP in Can adjustment layers be saved as "content"? - Is it a bug ?
It seems not to work any more.
When I tried your approach, @GarryP, the Asset produced an adjustment that gave me what looks to be an empty pixel layer. If I click on the thumbnail it has the proper Gradient Map Adjustment settings, but applying it gives a checkerboard rather than a modified image.

Thanks again Walt. I have done that. Very good instructions. Alas, to no avail. But, again, I appreciate your efforts.     Ani

I tried that, it didn't work. I selected the text box and some text inside it.

walt.farrell reacted to R C-R in Using recolor in Affinity Photo V1.10.8
For the HSL color model selector in the Color Panel the Lightness & Saturation sliders go from 0 to 100, which I think must be percent; Hue from 0 to 360, which I think must be degrees. In the Recolor Adjustment Saturation likewise goes from 0% to 100%, Hue likewise from 0° to 360°, but Lightness goes from -100% to 100%.
So really the only thing that needs conversion (so to speak) is the Lightness percent ... right?
  9. Thanks
walt.farrell reacted to Old Bruce in Using recolor in Affinity Photo V1.10.8
One problem is that the HSL values for Brightness go from 0 to 100 units in the Colour Panel and in the Recolour Adjustment they go from -100 to +100 Percent.

walt.farrell reacted to R C-R in Undo Styles - is it possible ?
AFAIK, the Default & similarly simple styles in the Styles panel that do not include layer effects will only have a visible affect on vector type object layers (like the rectangle & the other quick shapes, shapes made with the Pen Tool, & text objects) & on Image layers.
From your screenshot, it appears you tried to apply one of the Default styles to a Pixel layer. While doing so will add an 'apply object style' step to the History panel, it should not have any visible effect on Pixel layers, so undoing it likewise should have no effect.

walt.farrell got a reaction from pioneer in TOC in Publisher
Continuing on from what Mike said: By default, assuming those entries use Heading 1 as the Text Style, you'll have TOC Text Styles of TOC1: Heading 1 which is based on TOC1: Entry which is based on Base.
Base specifies a Space After of 12pt in its paragraph settings, and the TOC Text Styles leave that unchanged. You can edit any of those Text Styles and change the Space After to 0.

Yeah, I think the thing that Walt mentioned was the thing I was thinking about, I just got Studio and UI mixed up.
Good to know you’ve managed to get it fixed either way.

Thanks GarryP, but wait.farrell has cracked it, I just went 'View/Toggle UI' x 2 and the missing tool tips were restored. Almost certainly caused by me keying the 'Tab' button at some time. So simple when you know but maddeningly difficult to restore without such helpful guidance.
Perhaps a note could be added to the Help menu.
Anyway thanks again both, until the next time.
    HAPPY NEW YEAR.

My little Canny Vectors app has just passed the 5,000 acquisitions ‘marker’ in the Microsoft Store which, while not being a massive number, is great for something that has only been mentioned in these forums.
Thanks to anyone who has passed on a recommendation to a friend/colleague/enemy/stranger/etc.
Thanks also to anyone who has posted a nice review/rating in the store too.
Looking forward to making it to 10,000.

You might try opening the application Preferences (Edit > Preferences), clicking on Performance, and disabling Hardware Acceleration (OpenCL) if it is active. Then Restart the application and see if that helps.

walt.farrell reacted to Patrick Connor in Microsoft has just removed the "ms-appinstaller" protocol, which manages the installation of MSIX files.
I think you have misunderstood the problem which lies with a particular protocol
    ms-appinstaller:?source=xxx
Which is included in some websites to distribute MSIX files. Serif don't use that protocol on our website.
This protocol has been stopped in the past also, see here
The MSIX installers themselves and the patching process are unaffected.

I completely agree with you. My interest was piqued by the recent Pixelmator update. I made the switch to Affinity as soon as Adobe Creative Cloud was introduced. My clients didn't pick up on this switch, and I doubt I'll be returning to Adobe in the foreseeable future. Everything has been functioning wonderfully with the Affinity Suite, Sketch, Espresso, and RapidWeaver with Foundation. These tools have really been performing well for me.

walt.farrell got a reaction from Patrick Connor in Microsoft has just removed the "ms-appinstaller" protocol, which manages the installation of MSIX files.
What I am reading is that Microsoft disabled the protocol handler that allows direct installation via a web URI.  This does not stop users from manually downloading an MSIX file and installing it.
I don't know if this will have an effect on the current Update process, but I will try that later when I'm at my computer.
