What I am reading is that Microsoft disabled the protocol handler that allows direct installation via a web URI. This does not stop users from manually downloading an MSIX file and installing it. I don't know if this will have an effect on the current Update process, but I will try that later when I'm at my computer.

That could cause additional authentication steps.

They seem uninterested in trying to reverse-engineer undocumented file formats (.ai) or partially undocumented aspects (text) of partially documented formats (.psd). Or if not uninterested, it's at least lower-priority than other functions they want to provide. And I can sympathize and agree with that, if I've interpreted things correctly.

Serif generally does not comment on their future plans. -
I've no idea what's going on, then. One of the Serif staff should be able to explain later. Good to hear that you got in, though

That sounds like you have enabled 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) in the forum's Account Settings, which uses Google Authenticator (but which could probably also use iCloud Passwords & Keychain on iPadOS if you've set that up properly). This is what the setting looks like in Account Settings for the forum:

If anyone is interested in the approach using zero-width spaces, I figured out the issues I was having with that approach, and built an improved regular-expression: Find: (\w)(?=\w) Replace: $1\x{200B} (The \x{200B} is a zero width space. The revised Find string finds a word character followed by another word character, using a positive lookahead process.)

Have you tried the suggestion made by @carl123 above? -
bug ou mauvaise manip

That may simply mean that you have the Caps Lock pressed. We need to see a screenshot of the complete application window or a screen recording of the problem happening. Otherwise we can only guess. -
Note, though, that Resources is not really the place to have long discussions and ask questions (as you did in your initial post). The place for that is Questions, if appropriate in these forums at all. And as these forums are for discussions about Affinity products, and things useful in using them, I kind of agree with @PaulEC that discussion of specific frames (just like discussion of specific printers, or specific cameras) is not really relevant in these forums at all. I also agree that it would be nice if the Moderators responded to the member who posted the topic, but they do not have much time to spend right now, while the company is closed for holiday break, and may be taking some shortcuts. In any case, William, you should probably consider that if you try posting about certain things, and the posts are deleted, that you should stop posting about that topic

Text Style
walt.farrell replied to pioneer's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
PDF files do not contain Text Styles, and when you Open a file the only Text Styles the Affinity document contains are those from the file you Opened. Therefore, when you Open a PDF, you have no Text Styles at all. You can import some from another document, though. Just Open a standard .afpub file that has the Text Styles you want (or create a new empty document with File > New, and Save it). Then use the panel preferences (3-bar burger menu) in the Text Styles panel and choose the Import option and select the file to import from. -
I've had a chance to play with it, and in theory it should work, but there seem to be some bugs with Find and Replace that mean you can probably only come close. But if you want to play with it, you could try Find and Replace with the Regular Expression option enabled, and these strings: Find: (\w)(\w) (\w)(?=\w) Replace: $1\x{200B} (The \x{200B} is a zero width space. The revised Find string finds a word character followed by another word character, using a positive lookahead process.) I first tried it with just (\w) for the Find, and $1\x{200B} for the Replace, but that had a different set of issues and it was closer using the more complex expression.

There's no simple support in Publisher for automatically breaking lines in the middle of a word that way, except at hyphenation points. I think you could, though, use Find and Replace, with a regular expression, to insert a zero-width space after every character. Then it should flow as you want. I'm away from the computer right now, so I can't provide an example.

Need your feedback on Type
walt.farrell replied to debraspicher's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
@debraspicher: Is Mike right that this discussion is about on-screen appearance within the app? Or is it about export to some file type? -
I'm seeing the same behavior on Windows. Edit Hyperlink in the Hyperlinks panel always shows the first anchor in the anchor list. You can right-click on the Hyperlink in the text and choose "Go to Hyperlink Target" and that will put the cursor at the correct anchor, so it's just the Hyperlink Panel that has it wrong.
