  1. On Windows there's a Reset button at the bottom of that dialog that seems to undo any changes you've made in that editing session.
  2. And it's getting pretty bad reviews. I flagged it in the Play Store as Inappropriate: Copycat or Impersonation. Not sure what effect that will have...
  3. Someone mentioned recently that in the current AP beta on Windows there's an issue exporting a PNG with transparency. I can't tell if you're using the beta or not from the screenshot you provided, but if you are then try the production version of AP., or (for the beta) in the File->Export dialog click More... and uncheck "Embed ICC profile" and see if that helps. [Edit: It has been reported as a bug in the current beta for Windows, but not yet acknowledged by the Affinity team, probably due to the holidays. But it affects only the beta on Windows, not the released version. In the beta it is apparently it is no longer possible to export a .png or .gif file with transparency.]
  4. More likely I have failed to understand something, shojtsy. Sorry.
  5. Wouldn't Document->Clip Canvas take care of that for you?
  6. However, Affinity also refers to nesting one layer inside another as "clipping", which is (I think) what @carl123 may have been referring to. E.g., from this AP help topic,
  7. Even with AD I think you may need a shape, not a selection, to get the extend option enabled.
  8. Yes, I selected Bitmap in the Type selection, so I have no idea why your setup is behaving differently than mine. Definitely strange.
  9. Thanks, @dominik. I do not see that in AP unless I'm working in a .afdesign document. In any other kind of document I do not have the extend and quality options for the gradient tool and bitmaps.
  10. I don't see it in AP, either, dominik. Can you provide a screenshot showing where you find that option for the gradient tool in AP, please, so I can see what I missed? Thanks.
  11. You might try Googling for business card affinity designer or affinity designer tempates free
  12. No, it leaves you with a transparent background, which many image-editing programs happen to display as a checkerboard. Have you tried it to see if it resolves your problem? (However, I'm reminded of another ongoing discussion about an issue exporting a PNG file with transparency, depending on the version of AP one uses, which might cause a problem with this approach.)
  13. Perhaps this would work for you? Select the object. Invert the selection. Delete. At that point you should have only the selected object remaining, atop a transparent background. Export that to a format that supports transparency (e.g., PNG) and work with it further in Quark.
  14. I am not experienced enough to be sure I understand what you're doing, but have you checked to ensure that you have Document->Transparent Background enabled in Affinity Photo?
  15. I think @csalome is saying that most of the documented shortcuts are not assigned, for some reason, when looking at the Preferences dialog.
  16. If you have an unconstrained crop, AP (1.6.1.93) also displays the realtime size as you modify the size of the crop. AP 1.6.1.93 also displays real-time dimensions in pixels while cropping in unconstrained mode or absolute dimensions mode. I think it could be useful if it would do that in all cropping modes.
  17. Are you sure? It seems to snap properly for me, at least to the edges of the document, when I enable snapping with AP 1.6.1.93 on Windows 10.
  18. It doesn't for me, on Windows. AP tells me there's an update available, and lets me open the right page in the Affinity Store, but once there I have to manually download the update, save it (as I use FF rather than IE or Edge), then manually run it. I'm happy with it working that way, but puzzled why it seems to be fully automatic for you, John.
  19. I would still expect you to be able to get a refund. Of course, as you noted, you won't be able to use it to purchase from the Affinity Store, but you could use it later for something else from the Microsoft Store.
  20. You would need to request a refund via the Microsoft Store. Possibly this article will help, especially the Returns section. It says that after uninstalling you need to sign in to your order history and request a return.
  21. "Where to document it" is an interesting question, Patrick. If there's no good workaround then I would suggest that one obvious place is a prominent mention in the description of the app in the Microsoft Store, so users who find it there are (perhaps) less likely to be surprised later.
  22. Are you using a bookmark, or clicking on a link, or typing the URL into your browser's address bar? What browser and OS? If you click this link https://forum.affinity.serif.com do you get redirected?
  23. It sounds like you have set your Windows Preferences "display scale" to a custom value. From what I've read here AP doesn't like values other than the ones that Windows offers by default (100%, 125%, 150%, 175%) and setting a different value (e.g., 135%) will cause problems like the one you described.
  24. Sorry, but someone who knows about Macs will have to answer that. I can only guess. There is a tutorial about printing on Macs which demonstrates the process, and makes use of a Soft Proof layer which does have those options. If you follow the steps shown in that tutorial, using Soft Proof to see what your photo will look like, and applying additional adjustments underneath the soft proof layer to make it look correct, perhaps that eliminates the need to have the color intent option available while actually printing?
