  1. The Text Wrap icons are still on my toolbar on Windows. I don't know why they'd have disappeared for you, but perhaps try View > Configure Toolbar to put them back?
  2. But suppose you want to find two different kinds of text formatting and replace both with a common format. For example, wherever there's Arial or Courier New text use Georgia instead. That's going to be two sets of Find/Replace, but today you only have to specify the Replace criteria once. If you had only 1 reset button then you'd have to specify the Replace criteria twice.
  3. While I like the new ability to create file presets, I consider that different from templates. A template file would have master pages, styles, and other important document aspects already defined. One can simulate that today by creating a file with those characteristics but without real data and saving it for later reuse. But true template files would be nice.
  4. Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure I understand what you're asking for. Can you provide a screenshot that shows that magnifier/zoom slider bar? Also, for the "reduce the number of mouse clicks" are you referring to the need to double-click on a page in the Pages panel in order to select a page for editing. If so, you may not have discovered the other workflows using that panel which depend on being able to select a page without making it the active page in the view. For example, you can click on a page and ctrl-click on others (or shift-click) to have multiple pages selected, and then you can apply a master to them all, or use spread properties to adjust them all, and some other functions as well.
  5. If it helps, View > Show Text Ruler and then you can set tab stops by clicking. See the status bar for more hints while the mouse is over the text ruler.
  6. Welcome to the Affinity forums. Just a response to a couple of your points: Depending on the image, you may find that Lanczos (separable, or non-separable) will be better than either bilinear or bicubic. I don't know for sure, but as the results are image-dependent the Affinity designers may have decided to leave that choice entirely in the hands of the user. If I understand what you're looking for, check the image just before item 6 in your list: You get that when the View Tool (hand) is selected.
  7. I just managed to do something similar. File > New Choose Text Frame tool, create an empty text frame Switch to Move tool Double-click on left-middle node of the text frame. At this point everything seemed OK. Double-click on the left-middle node again. Publisher hangs.
  8. What hyphenation options do you have specified in your Paragraph panel? (Or, if you're using Styles, in the Paragraph settings for the style associated with your text?)
  9. Via the Fields panel (View > Studio > Fields): Double-click on the label "Total Pages" and a field will be inserted at the text cursor.
  10. I think you left out the third possibility, Wim. If you have Publisher checking spelling as you type, then it will provide a red underline on a misspelled word to highlight it. If you right-click on such a word, and Publisher has suggestions for as different spelling, you can choose one, or tell Publisher to ignore the misspelling, or to learn the word and add to the dictionary.
  11. First, a left-click on the frame should not open a context menu. For me, that takes right-click. Next, I'm not sure they've allowed for tool changes while the Place Images panel is visible. In beta .133, in fact, if you change tools the Place Images panel closes.
  12. Interesting. I didn't realize that pasting had a default, and must not have read your original post carefully enough. Sorry. Yes, it looks like you will need to make sure the Artistic text tool is selected before pressing Paste. At least, adjusting the content of the Tools will make it easier to find the Artistic text tool to click on it
  13. Something's odd. My default Base style has Space After of 0. On another try, I see Base as having a Space After of 12 pt. Not sure what's going on. But ignoring that, if I create a new paragraph style based on Base none of the Spacing settings for the new style shows as No Change. They all have values inherited from Base. And I can easily change them. Actually, once I got it to show "[No Change]" so there is something inconsistent happening. But clicking in the box automatically changed it to 0pt and it saved correctly.
  14. The default set of tools includes one with the T (for Text frame) that is switchable to A (Artistic). Using View > Customize Tools, you can add one that is either just A, or that is switchable but defaults to A. You can also remove the existing one that defaults to T if you want to.
  15. I don't think that's Affinity interfering; I think that's just Windows giving you a choice, and ticking the box to always use your choice should take care of it. Once you've opened that file, and checked "Always use this app", do you keep having the problem?
  16. There's a leading setting in the Paragraph panel: There's also a leading override in the Character panel:
  17. Can you tell us more about what you were finding and replacing, or provide a screenshot of the Find & Replace panel after you've hit Find?
  18. Because with a document that uses embedding you can simply pick up the one document and move it to a different computer, or send it to another user. In essence, it's a kind of package.
  19. When the word is highlighted (red underline), if there are suggestions then right-clicking the word will reveal the suggestions and also options to Ignore or to Learn. Learn is what you want to add the word to the dictionary. However, if there are no suggestions you have to use Text > Spelling > Show Spelling Options to get the Ignore and Learn options.
  20. You shouldn't press Enter to start a new line. Enter is for new paragraphs. If you need to end a line early, use shift+enter which adds a line break.
