What I find sad too, is the indefinite state they let the users in. In two weeks we could grab a beer and celebrate the 5th anniversary of this thread. Still, the moderator only can say what he did when Publisher was pushed back again and again and again and again and...: it's done when it's done...
As someone who bought the complete suite, I honestly don't like the way Serif treats user requests (specifically this one), but that's my problem I guess, which I can manage.
Hard, hard agree. I've long given up on ever using this software again. At this point, it's the principle. I tell everyone I can about this absurd story of the simple feature that never was. I'm only subscribed to the thread to see how far it goes. Cheers, everyone!

Globals can help in a very limited number of cases. But often it's nothing to do with simply swapping a colour, I use it more for selections and stroke weights.
That's why it's such a fundamental tool for a vector app and why it's so disappointing that's it's still not in after getting on for 5 years and seems it won't be in 1.7 either. This plus a list of other things and very little progress being made are making wonder if it ever will be a real AI alternative and whether I'll ever be able to switch to it for my work.
Logged in just to say "hard agree". Don't know if you care @MEB , but I made this account just to follow and agree to this thread. I left AD a year or two ago now over this one feature. At this point, I don't think I'd even bother returning for fear of finding another basic and essential feature like this that I can see clearly won't get fixed.

The dev teams are committed with the roadmap/plans defined for the 1.x cycle. There's plenty of other essential/requested features - depending on each user needs/interests - and we have implemented quite a few already (not included in the initial roadmap) but our dev team/resources are limited. We can't address all requests at once. There's also features that depend on other parts of the code to be completed/expanded to be implemented or on the development/conclusion of other apps of the suite to be ported back/interaction. Please bear with us while we work on them. Selection by attributes will come in a future update/version when possible.
That's a lot of words for "still nothing". I understand, but man it's a bummer. Would really love to actually use this app full-time.

Agreed. You know what helps sell more licenses? When I can honestly recommend the software to fellow designers. Until basic stuff like this is taken care of, I can't really do that.

I just made an account on this forum to leave this comment because selecting objects with the same fill/border color is a deal-breaker. I've been successfully testing out AD with projects and using it for work, but this just stopped my project in it's tracks. I also realize the "global colors" work great, but only after they've been implemented. When I bring in artwork from somewhere else (let's say a really complicated SVG bar chart with 4 different color bars) there's no way to select all the pieces I want to MAKE THEM GLOBAL.

lol, holy F**king shit, most action this thread has seen in years. how nuts would it be if they actually released this feature? I mean...I've so long given up on Affinity, purely because of this feature, but man am I glad I kept the emails coming for this. Cheers, y'all. Stay safe.
