I want to add to this - if this feature is in paid 2.0 I am totally OK with that. I will buy it instantly if it will be same price as previous but guys this is 6 years now and while there were cool new features along the way this and image vectorisation is really needed.
So many tutorials how to nicely wrap text in Illustrator and how some things that they do easily is just not possible here - it breaks my heart and I am your fan/evangelist and user since almost beginning I wish you all the luck in bringing this to 1.x lineup or 2.0 paid upgrade but hope it will be sooner than later

I don't think Serif will ever focus on advanced vector tools in Designer - I don't see any traces of such intentions and they certainly didn't hire vector gfx specialists recently. Nor did they allocate time to the single one they have who was and is in fact struggling to get booleans and expand stroke to work properly for years. If is was due to lack of qualifications, it is a disaster. If it was due to lack of business priorities that fixing these issues were put on hold for years, it is a disaster that tells you how little vector features means to Serif.
It is quite obvious that the developers involved in VectorStyler are extremely qualified. They certainly also have higher ambitions algorithm-wise / output-wise.

I curse and swear often - each time I look for this and then remember it's not possible.
Then I load up VectorStyler and wonder why I don't just start in that app.

+1 from me. It’s the only reason why I am, sadly, still using Illustrator.

"Free vector perspective" and "Free vector extrusion" is a MUST for many professional users.
Without this function, the program can only be used by artists.
I work as a technical illustrator and would be happy to bury CorelDraw and Illustrator.
Just like Affinity Photo has replaced Photoshop.
But unfortunately this is NOT possible without these functions.
I'm looking forward to future updates and uninstall the actual designer demo again...  : - (((

I also have issues with my Wacom Bamboo CTH-470. According to customer Service, lots of Affinity users have that tablet and it is supposed to work fine.

My issues are that a lot of the time, the freehand drawing doesn't work. All it does is create a straight line between the starting and end point of drawing. But sometimes it works for a short moment. This happens when I use stylus and tablet. Whenever I use the mouse, freehand always works fine parallel to the stylus + tablet not working in Affinity Designer. I have been using this tablet for years in the Adobe programs and never once had any issue with it. It works fine in all other software. The driver software, which got its final update in 2015 is updated.  This seems to be an issue mostly in Designer. While the freehand drawing malfunctions there, it works fine in Publisher.

Another issue I have in Designer is with brushes changing to a completely different brush when I use the keyboard shortcut to change size. I can only adjust brush size in the brushes' advanced settings. So, from where I'm sitting, it looks like Affinity still has a few significant bugs that don't exist in other software. But, I do have to say that despite that it is absolutely a fantastic alternative to the outrageously priced Adobe equivalents. I do so wish they would add the function for vectorizing pixel images, though. I know about the vectorizing alternatives, but it's a drawback in terms of workflow.

They have been converted to pages now, @pixelschubsen, and should all be available one at a time using the page navigator on the lower left of your screen, next to the status bar.
Note that you could have left them as Artboards in Publisher; you did not need to convert them to Pages. And if you plan to move back and forth that may be a better choice for you in the future

I'm having some troubles with the Define option under the wand tool... still having a photoshop --> photo learning curve.  Anyways, this is my first Affinity Photo manipulation.  Starting to get the hang of it.  If anyone is willing to walk me through some advanced methods for defining masks, please let me know.

I'm coming from GIMP, which has this feature for free. I'm in a trial of Affinity and really liking it, but I produce images for web use, so I need to compress images as much as possible without losing too much visual quality. I have no concept of how anyone does that without a preview. Is this feature coming soon?

Totally agree! For UI Design it is absolutely necessary to  have some pre-sets for Font-Antialiasing!

MRP, don't hold your breath.  Even my amazingly persuasive "PRETTY PLEASE" trick hasn't budged Serif on this important feature. The implementation delay on this is terribly unfortunate.

Some great updates have come out for the Affinity apps but mysteriously the excellent suggestions in this thread go unheeded.  So please allow me to try a new technique on Serif that's sure to get our request in the NEXT update...

I'm working with text right now and could use this feature.
The Blend Gamma option is useful but the above could help speed up things.
