    Try this:

    Create a new layer.
Enter your text on that layer.
Change the all of your text from black to white (it is the background colour).
Then using the blend mode as mentioned by Alfred, keep your white text selected then use Contrast Negate.

    Job done. B)

I've finally entered the world of creative advertising, by submitting my entry to The Chip Shop Awards for judging next spring.
    Not a cheap hobby.
Being allowed to create something witty, close to the knuckle and quite apt is something I've wanted to do for a very long time. This is my entry.
It is an ointment manufacturer, helping out the seasonal homeless down under, buy their product and they'll donate the proceeds to a charity.
Of course it is full of puns, some of you know me well enough by now!
Its called How can you sleep when the Bush is burning?
Pungent: noun. a bloke with rotten jokes!🤢
The photo is from the web.
The packaging was done this Spring in AD.
The skewing, backlighting and montage was done in APh.

    Wish me luck.

(The Drum Chip Shop Awards celebrate pure, unadulterated creativity. It's a platform where anything and everything is allowed, an awards show with no rules and no boundaries meaning the possibilities are endless!) The prizes are not glossy statues or metallic masks: they are a resin bottle of vinegar and an oversized chip.

The ideas are easy, the entry fee is so-so, rejection isn't.

Inspired by beach style resin crafts I saw on the internet I thought I would re create the effect as a text effect in Affinity Photo.  I used seamless repeating images as pattern layers and the text is still editable.

Another Text effect that incorporates pattern layers.  There is one on the background too.  This time I went for a kind of vintage 3d look  I chose soft muted colours in tones of pink and yellow .

Here's my first Instrument Panel done mainly in Designer. There are a few imported Photoshop elements from previous panel illustrations. These are used as training aids for student pilots.
The individual instruments an be configured to represent a particular flight attitude, too.
I am staring to get used to the 'thinking different' that Designer takes, compared to my lived-in-for-thirty-plus-years Photoshop.
    Enjoy!

I thought it may be of help to those new to Affinity Publisher to produce a brief guide to Typography.
The focus of the guide is to highlight the importance of using typography settings to allow for repositioning and sizing of page elements when finally deciding on a page layout design. Hopefully, it will be of use to those who may be unfamiliar with the typography settings in AP.
The guide can be viewed HERE. If you want to download the PDF, click on THIS LINK

No filters or adjustments here, just got lucky. I set my camera to one of the automatic modes.
The second one was only a few minutes later, again no filter, that hill looked like it was home to a giant searchlight.
Well worth the drive, it was a gut instinct decision.
    Definitely worth it.

What started as a hunt for a decent picture of red kites (because they all took off and flew off) turned out to be a photoshoot of my partner's amazing handy work, a multicoloured acrylic scarf.
A wing like pose, to make up for the lack of avian interest.
Another cloudy and chilly day: at least it was dry.
Paparazzi  allergy perhaps? I wouldn't mind; but this field is home to two dozen of the flying-road-kill-diners.
