peter replied to ameleen07's topic in Tutorials (Serif and Customer Created Tutorials)

+1 scanner support is really useful. -
Twain/scanner, is this supported yet in either AD or APh? As I can't seem to find it.

“Use exactly the same file format between applications” Excerpt From: “Affinity Review #1.” iBooks. So how can the same format have different names? Or is it flexible like JPG/JPEG?

User manual
peter replied to JohnB's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi JohnB and photofriend, welcome to the forums. I need manuals too, Serif produces some nifty guides for its Plus range over on Windows. Well written, handily sized and matches perfectly, with everything on the screen. This link is from MEB. Should be your first port of call. This link should be featured on the welcome screen. http://www.miguelboto.com/affinity/ -

Why so expensive?
peter replied to mr_bee's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
OK fair comment; but that's why the Betas are SO important. The users, myself included are shaping versions 2,3,4 etc. This is a very dynamic forum, with a sense of community. (I've been on it every day, since I joined). This will be a game changer in the long run, not tomorrow, as it is incomplete (but extremely functional) at the moment and the dev team DO listen. How powerful is that? Very! Just like ballroom dancing, this forum and the dev team are equal partners who rely on each other's feedback and right now that's all that matters. As for price...expensive is the wrong word! -
Hi Ramon, welcome to the forums. Looks like you're already at home with AD. The App is cheap (as in very affordable!) but the output is priceless. Hope there's more to come.

I've just opened my AD file in APh and yes as promised it works. Even the lines that were drawn in the vector mode ARE fully editable. :D :D :D

AD is still easier to 'read' the tool bar, than AI's display. People generally see colour first, then postition, after that shape and finally fine detail. Just think about traffic lights; all of this very quickly.

I've been snooping around this Adobe https://forums.adobe.com/search.jspa?q=affinity+image Looks like a lot of people there are missing a filter, one that goes by the name Oil paint. Maybe if you added it ... Re: in photoshop CC 2014 where did the oil paint filter go? it is the filter i need for almost every photo Created by AtonMusic in Photoshop General Discussion Incredible --- It was a very nice effect. They keep removing the great stuff and adding stuff no one needs.... Cant wait for Affinity Image.... I have been using PS since V1. The past 5 years, this wonderful software keeps getting slower and fuller of no-use features. First one had...
