affinity designer Affinity illustrations and experiments

Hi, welcome to the forums. The denims, the stretched vest, blurred background and the sketches are really convincing. As for your sketches, they would look good when converted into one of AD's raster brushes...Paolo.limincelli has really pushed the boundaries with his brush work (you should see his amazing Road Runner scene). The way you've got the fabrics just right with their touchable textures and opacity is spot on. This would be a great opportunity to build up a swatch of various fabrics: ranging from leather, suede, polyester, silk and PVC/leather. A tutorial on how to make them would also be very welcome. That must've taken you hours, to do. Well done! :D As for the previous comments; I agree with every one of them. So why not see how, they tile together with other tiles to produce a Moroccan style interior and really showboat yours and AD's true ability?

Regarding the upcoming wedding, I'd like to do your invite cards and table settings. LOL As for artwork, two words spring to mind Lynx Deodorant. Seriously though, do a mockup for their current male grooming product...i.e one that you like the most. Then use this strap line as a piece of copy: Smell like Adonis and delight the angels. A client like Unilever/Lynx just loves a bit of tongue in cheek: just Google Lynx Boost towel boy, to see why. You never know it might just work. LYNX is also known as AXE.

affinity designer Fiat 500 Vintage '57 - drawing a car in AD
peter replied to bodobe's topic in Share your work
This is on par with the other cars in this forum. Awesome! Any chance of a DS3? Someone tell MEB, that we need a garage for this many cars. It won't be long before Chris Evans, JK the singer, Jodie Kidd and Jay Leno start asking for commissions...Somebody needs to push these great pieces of automotive art into the car mags. TopGear on the Beeb, RIP. -

Becoming a classic? It was classic from day one. LOL. Maybe he should've had a design award too! Best illustrated tutorial! Get's my vote. -
Hi Gregory. There's a lot of Hindiusm in this picture, what is your source of inspiration? Is it religious art or is it more travelling? I could see this picture on the back of a tuk-tuk and expect it to have been there forever. Either way you've got a style that sits quite easily between India and what was once called Indo-China. What is that font? What does it say? Well done.

Credits! :P Naah! Seriously I like the Mr Benn approach: an eejit, an adventure/task and suitable ending/moral tale, without being patronising. Yup, I've got the book, the DVD and a few of the limited edition 6 inch statues. How's the PIF ideas sitting with you? Want to carry on or have you got more fresh ideas? Either way, you are in the honoured position of having the support from this forum users and staff alike. We expect great things from you mister. PS other PIFs to whet the appetite Learn to swim Cross the road safely, without gawping into yer phone No playing with matches...remember that toasted clown? Welcome Willabong, I started with DP2 on Win 3.11 :D and have said it many times before: I need Serif on the Mac (Bye bye, Windows). This has been a long, long time: but if you keep with it you'll see that even though AD has less features than DP and is cheaper, but what it does do - it does better than DP :D. This is still the 1st incarnation, not bad eh? Can you imagine what V4/5/6 will be capable of...? peter

Very, very Art Deco. Just like the travel posters of old, as seen at the travel agents. Visit St Moritz, the English Riviera, the French Riviera: all brought up to date with the female model. Timeless and faultless. Well done.

Got DrawPlus X6 on Mac. Reasons to change???
peter replied to JohnMcK's topic in [ARCHIVE] Designer beta on macOS threads
To use a cliched analogy, this is the 6 weeks holiday between leaving primary school and joining secondary school. Old friends and routines versus strangers and the great unknown. If you feel that strongly about Serif, then you're in good company, devs and users alike. As time passes by, AD's toolbox will grow (pasteboard area for me). Be brave young Jedi...- 12 replies
