  1. WOW! Was this from memory or was it based on an actual image? We want more!
  2. Hi cheshiredesigner, welcome to the forums. This pic looks like it's been around forever: which is generally classed as a sign of getting things right. I like the dirty edges on the sign that says Tony's Diner. If I have one critique, it's this...on the Diner sign, the bowl on the letter R, looks far too small. Needs to be a trapezium shape and slightly larger. Otherwise a great piece! AD is an absolute delight to work with!
  3. Cathedral building MEB, is a metaphor for production line manufacturing; this is where one person or group has only one task/skills set. Which when combined together creates the final product. A kind of symphony, where the togetherness creates a larger piece of creativity. I've borrowed this term from the world of Linux.
  4. The most important icons; are the awards that Affinity wins :D
  5. This is my offering for the new logos. The original post is here... https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/9558-new-branding-for-affinity/ This is the 'Affinity snooker rack' and the initials of the individual app. Any thoughts? Just say, good or bad; all are welcome.
  6. AD: looks like a mountain logo. APh: does look like a camera, so can't be confused for anything else. APu: reminds me of Adidas. The triangle (aka the snooker rack) is worth hanging onto. It is Affinity! So why not take a leaf out of Adobe's book and shove the initials into the snooker rack instead? I can't attach any pics at the moment :( So, I've put them in a new post... https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/8341-custom-affinity-icons/
  7. I found this link elsewhere in the forum; you might like it. http://graphicburger.com/t-shirt-mockup-psd-2/
  8. The sailor's good! Old joke for ya... Q: Why is that piece of wood at the bottom of the sail called a boom? A: Because when it hits you on the back of the head; it's the last thing you'll hear
  9. Nice job! As MEB said...more tools are on the way and with pics like this, skew/morph/envelope and isometric tools will soon speed up the work flow.
  10. Good start! Takes a big step to launch an app. Good luck with it OK, here comes the critique... Yes, green has been done to death. You are right to choose another colour. What about burgundy, bronze or purple? Most playing cards only have the numbers and suit icon in the top left and bottom right. Use a thinner font, a long thin serif based font is much more regal. Think clarions, swans and lances. You need to show at least one reverse side of a card. Typically a repeated ornate flock style pattern; in a deep shade of your choice. The numbers must be solid red (hearts and diamonds) and black (clubs and spades). It's just one of those conventions. HTH Ps are your familiar with Bruce Forsyth's Play your cards right? peter
  11. Found 'em. Must be really good seeing your art on someone else's product. Especially a fun doggy camp like this. Roll on APu! We DO need more dogs in this forum.
  12. George and Craig: you're both as talented as each other...Let the battle of the Bands Brushes begin :P
  13. Congratulations Craig and Happy Father's day for this weekend! Enjoy it. It's just a balance now, between time spent on the Maclaren pram versus the Mackintosh!
  14. Yes. I've just found that picture...that has the same feel.
  15. Cool! Give www.citv.com a ring! This looks like a good ident. As for the differences, I'm only guessing here but it could be a compression issue; MEB or the dev team would be the best guys to ask.
  16. Great pic of the Thin White Duke. Tell me, where in the menu will I find Tools>Pen>Under>Pressure>Down>On? :P Some gold/bronze/copper outlined scripted fonts, wouldn't look out of place here. Good album art fodder.
  17. Hi Craig, I hope there isn't going to be a war between these and the eejits  If Hieronymous Bosch was alive today; he'd love this artwork and AD as well. This picture needs to be part of a bigger epic scene, on a Narnian/Tolkien scale. Maybe this could then end up as a 1000+ jigsaw.
  18. Got to get the AD garage built!
  19. Will you show off the finished product when it gets released? Walkies!
  20. I'd say that Adobe had got his approach spot on with their reader software. This could be a little gold mine; as everyone likes a free sample. Though I'm not sure, how much this Affinity Lite/Reader/SE would cost the dev team in time and effort. Nice if it could happen though.
  21. Woof! Woof! It's the dogs...Great job.
  22. Cool! Reminds me of this...http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lHiPvnjllBI/T1WiWfLa_QI/AAAAAAAAC1g/hOdJaNPLEbc/s1600/Dick_Tracyposter.jpg Beta tester of the new Apple watch :P It would be nice to see your version of the square-jawed detective.
