  1. This idea/conversation isn't exactly new. Pro photo-shops have had this for ages. Fountain pens have had bellow reservoirs long before disposable cartridges. Cigarette lighters started of with petrol/alcohol soaked cotton(?) swabs, then became disposables. So as someone who has just seen a Kodak all-in-one printer die on me, just past its warranty period. Who only offered to sell me a second hand printer for £50. :( I hope that these machines will last for several years more.
  2. Now that I've got bug...Here's my localised version. B) It's so flat; the icon daren't crease the horizon.
  3. This'll keep ya busy...'till breakfast. :) :o  <_< ;) ^_^
  4. Don't forget to visit the road map to see what's coming next. AD=Affinity Designer=Vector and Raster: (Illustrator) APh=Affinity Photo=Photo manipulation: (Photoshop) APu=Affinity Publisher=Desktop publishing: (In Design) This clears up any confusion and is a handy short cut. This copies Adobe's style of naming, which also copies the periodic table abbreviations. As seen in the current US TV series Breaking Bad titles. https://affinity.ser...opic/1689-faqs/ Let's see what you can do...I've put my favourite pins on my Pinterest board... here's a few from it https://www.pinteres...inity-designer/ https://www.pinteres...-family-guy-tr/ https://www.pinteres...ets-the-eejits/ As for the various tutorials, MEB has kindly posted these links here http://www.miguelboto.com/affinity/ Should be enough to get the ball going.
  5. I'm a Peter Gabriel fan, so I know that these musicians are a rare breed: story telling, talented singer song writers, who have had multiple stage personas, song styles and a penchant for makeup...Fan art much more classier than stalking! :P
  6. Thanks Bodo, Craig and George are really good, aren't they? Have you seen Huachee's work? it's amazing. :D https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/11695-from-chinas-style/
  7. That's a stock answer. Still, it's a nice style.
  8. George, I thought it was me, who did the tacky jokes. Minions, Inside out, Eejits next ;) Or cereal boxes characters for own brand and big labels?
  9. Amateurs indeed! I had my money on the bottom left hand quarter from Robert Rauschenberg, White Painting, 1951. House paint on canvas, 72 x 72 in, four panels. Seriously, some of us only have primitive JPG cameras and would like to see the initial image sitting next to the developed/finished image. So apart from huge file sizes, what else is different?
  10. Huachee, I've added some text to your first picture. Hope you find this agreeable. This is how you've inspired me. This collection would also make a beautiful set of stamps...it just needs some postal prices and country name added to it. The second and third pictures are from Pinterest... Peter Ps I've just seen the video Blue and White porcelain. Is this one of your favourite Jay Chou videos?
  11. Nice! In car air-freshners next?
  12. Don't get too carried away...as you'll undo this post :P :P :P :P :P
  13. I tried to translate Affinity into Chinese, not sure if it was Mandarin; but the translation said Agreeable. I might have to start dishing out some more Eggies again.
  14. Hi Fujimo, welcom to the forums. Aah, that's better. I have made a picture like this before. So in theory it is possible to do this. It's all about the clipboard, selection tool and layers. Select the first image as your background. Put the second frame on a new level Call that frame two Now here comes the magic... Select the windsurfer from frame two with a rectangular marque/box, using the selection tool (pixel persona) Copy that selection Go back to layer one, where the first frame is, and simply press the paste button from the menu If that works, then it is just a case then of repeating the same steps. action picture.afdesign
  15. The muted tones and sombre feel coming from the trees, seem well balanced. How did you get the photo to look like that? The chunky white logo sits nicely on top. Very classy! This gives me the feeling of heavy matte finish, that would be found in magazines like Roleur... http://www.highsnobiety.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/12/files/2014/10/paul-smith-covers-rouler-magazine-issue-50-2.jpg

Not a Thanks. I could tell that this was a good site...I couldn't keep up with all the new stuff!
  17. Hi Huachee, A little history lesson for you and the forum...in 1981, the first Western musician to be allowed to perform in China, was Jean Michel Jarre. I have included the link to that concert here. http://ozashikitechno.blog33.fc2.com/blog-entry-11.html This was one of his best performances. Here, he performed his first three albums and introduced some new tracks, written especially for this tour. Four billboard posters were designed for his visit. Here is one of them. This is why I like your work. May your work with AD, continue to amaze us all...and bring you success. peter
  18. Your other option was to use the Time Bandits! ;) :P But a certain fruit based primate has saved the day for you! :D
