    @Jimi

    Yeah! This should have a vertical and horizontal crease running through the middle as well as four staple holes. Why? Because this is what I expect to be in a magazine as a for page centrefold. :) how much of this was AD and how much was APh?
  2. I only have AD at the moment. The file was a jpg and not a RAW file; so some of my options are li BTW, that was some thought you put into that review!
  3. With the amount of females using this tech: phones, tablets, social media, webcams and selfies. It's quite amazing that they haven't embraced the development side of this brave new world. Who is to blame? Schools, recruiters, parents, Ad men, the press, television, glossy magazines or the girls themselves?
  4. Welcome back Ronnie, How about giving the central character a subtle glow? As if he is something special. As for the faces, where's the stubble (Me/MEB/rui_mac) or the beards (retrograde) to name a few? How about a red background and a green banner?
  5. Hi folks, I took this photo of a partial solar eclipse: from my place at 8:15 am, a few years ago, half awake I was and yet somehow after getting about 27 pictures, this was one was the one that surprised me. I never saw the bird through the screen. I haven't edited it at all. Any ideas how to improve this? Does it need tweaking at all? All comments welcome. peter

  10. Wow! You could cheat, by using jpegs of metal and marble, then Paste inside. I've seen this before, with sunsets and it works a treat!

  12. Hi imacken, What you are talking about is the missing pasteboard area. This is on the roadmap; so it's just a case of sit-and-wait. Until then you can press command + a, or Select>Select all. It's not perfect, but it's all we've got for now.
  13. +1 for justwilliam's post. You have created a style that you can be proud of! A beach scene from the same vantage point, would go down a treat. The layering trick worked a treat. There is a distinct difference between fore, mid and backgrounds. Clever use of black to start off with BTW. Which layer did you do first? Is this image from real life? The boats look very tactile and the nets look touchable. Well done.
  14. You're right! This was never meant to be taken the wrong way. It's referring to an often used quote, that I'd just read this article below. This come from the Steve jobs quote (and others, Picasso?) http://www.cnet.com/news/what-steve-jobs-really-meant-when-he-said-good-artists-copy-great-artists-steal/#! What Steve Jobs really meant when he said 'Good artists copy; great artists steal'Apple's Bud Tribble: "If you take something and make it your own ... it's your design and that is the dividing line between copying and stealing. That is part of Apple's DNA." Think Andy Warhol and a certain tin of soup. Inventors do it all the time, copy mother nature's designs. Just like the AT-ATs in Star Wars, which resemble elephants/camels. Aeons of Beta testing and no copywriting issues. This is a quote from http://www.innovationexcellence.com/blog/2014/09/08/great-innovators-steal/ Maxine Horn says: September 9, 2014 at 10:03 am An interesting article and of course the headline Great Innovators steal was just an attention grabber. Great Innovators ‘stand of the shoulders of giants’ – a quote arguably attributed to Issac Newton. Innovators might steal from many (be influenced /inspired by and connect new dots) but never steal from one. Meaning it is not innovative to copy the work of one person but taking unrelated influences from many different sources and applying new logic to create an entirely new solution in a different sector or circumstance is using many influences, new intelligence, knowledge and know how to innovate. The article puts the argument across extremely well and helps to differentiate between influence and inspiration and that of ‘stealing’ work from others. 15. Just two hours :blink: that's incredible!
  16. What's art without plagiarism? Sometimes, you have to use other people's work. Given them credit/a mention is always honourable.
  17. Hi fizztemo, welcome to the forum. There is a brilliant tip, that I found by mistake. Click on the font bar, so that the pulldown menu appears. The current font will appear, highlighted in a blue bar. Now to find your font....press the font's first letter!
