  1. I can not replicate this. I've tried various file formats, added several adjustment layers and live filter layers. I have no problem deleting them, the entire adjustment or live filter layer, which is what the mask uses. Are wanting to delete just the mask and leave the adjustment/filter? If so have you tried pressing the Merge button located in the upper-right corner of the adjustment dialog? That merges the adjustment with your layer and no mask.
  2. I can confirm that here using any image. The Perspective and Mesh warp tools are the only ones where this occurs. It also happens in the current stable release, 1.6.5.135
  3. You can do this. In the screenshot, I had both images Floating instead of Docked just or ease of demonstration. I also made sure I had the Eyedropper selected for each, but I don't think it's necessary. If you make sure the Source is set to Global it places it in the dropper "well" (don't know if that's the correct name for it), to the right of the eyedropper in the color tab. I tested this by adding a new pixel layer and filling it with the color selected in the other image. It works. As far as "in focus", I think any program must have the focus shifted in order to see it and select anything from it. If not wouldn't that be a "background type" of function?
  4. Not so much one or the other. Truck does not define what type of truck. Over here, my personal vehicle is a pick-up truck. I use to drive a tractor-trailer truck or commonly known as a semi, 18-wheeler, big-truck or large car. Then there are Box trucks, those have a large box compartment on them. So in England (UK) which one of those is a Lorry? I'm thinking it refers to box and semi. So using the Lorry Truck to reference size and how much it can haul, a box-truck can haul more than my pick-up truck. An 18-wheeler can haul more than a box-truck. EDITED: Actually the proper name for the 18-wheelers, the tractor uncoupled from the trailer is a Truck-Tractor, and the trailer is a Semi-trailer.
  5. Something a little different using the paint spots and mesh warp. paintspot eyes.afphoto
  6. I play around using Affinity Photo to develop some RAW files, just to see how it performs. I also don't use DPP much at all, however it will give you the most accurate results. I use Lightroom to develop my RAW files. If there's further processing, like removing objects, or stylizing, I'll use Affinity Photo for that. Unless you have Exposure Bias and Tone Curve checked in the Develop Assistant, a RAW file will appear flat. You can try switching them on and see if that's where you want to start. There is a customer beta of the next update available. You might try it and see if you get better results. Affinity Customer Beta 1.7 for Windows
  7. Yes, been using it for sometime with my Canon RAW files (CR2).
  8. Welcome to the forums Krow. Are you referring to Designer or Photo? Here's a link to a search on YouTube for tutorials on digital painting using Affinity apps https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=digital+painting+in+affinity+photo+tutorial
  9. I used the Clone tool for the background of the extended canvas, applied a lens blur.
  10. I agree 100%. I've been reading these forums daily, which include the Requests. There seems to be a lot of requests that appear to want Affinity to be Photoshop. While it's obvious Serif is working hard to eat away at Adobe's market for their products, it's not trying to be Photoshop. Posting that PS does it this way can you add this, type of requests suggests to me anyway the posters want Serif to clone Adobe's products. I'm sure Serif could do that, including the pricing. It would take that to provide a product that is a replica of PS. BUT, I'll wager they (those requesting) would not be willing to pay for it. I've used PS, and did like it, but not the pricing. I currently use several tools, LR, On1 (very little), Corel PSP, CorelDraw, and now I mainly use Affinity Photo. If I need to do something I'll use which tool(s) work the best or at least what I can do the task(s) best with. (For now, I just can't justify purchasing Affinity Designer having a current version of CorelDraw GS. It's way more advanced, and I do not expect Serif to be able to equal it for some time). If you can do things using MS Paint or Gimp but AP doesn't have the niffy one-button click to do it, well use those. I wouldn't expect some other software to adapt to that. JMHO.
  11. Tried it, but AP wouldn't crash. It is strange that the resized layer suddenly grows as large and even larger than the original image.
  12. They (the Google free) work fine for me. Color space needs to be RGB, 8 or 16 bit. They don't work if using 32-bit HDR.
  13. What about the coffee mug, or the sofa? The mug most likely has fingerprints of the suspect, the sofa may have DNA evidence.
  14. Hi David Maxey and welcome to the forums; Are you using a Mac or Windows? I know nothing about Macs. In windows, this is a function of the OS, not the App such as Affinity. Clicking on File>Open, opens a browser window, ie; Windows Explorer. Using Win10 it has the proper codec for the RAW file to display the JPEG image contained within. What Camera are you shooting? I shoot Canon and the OS provides thumbnail images for my CR2 RAW files. See attached screenshot. The second screenshot shows the icon in the upper-right of the Browse/Explore window to click to open a menu where you can choose how the folder contents is displayed. Choosing Large or Extra Large should produce the thumbnail views.
  15. Tried again this morning, and it's not doing the same thing now. The Navigation box in the Navigation window does not appear until >29%. It remains there for me this morning, until I get to <29%.
  16. I get the opposite, If I drag my main app with the toolbar undocked, to my 2nd monitor, the toolbar does not follow. It remains in the primary. However with the app in my 2nd monitor, undock the toolbar, then drag the main app back to my primary monitor, the toolbar follows along.
  17. Those options are located bottom left of the Open dialog after clicking on Replace Image. (Windows OS)
