  1. Those are separate images he has named and opened for the tutorial. The Inpainting tab is the image used.
  2. How would he or anyone know that? I think it would require some poling to even estimate that. So why would anyone have knowledge of what you do or do not know or understand? Why should they? This is common practice for Beta testing, for the company to post disclaimers, warning, letting those who choose to download, install, and participate in Beta testing. I don't think it's up to Serif, Adobe, Corel, or any others to ensure you're level of understanding. If you were ignorant to these things, why in the world would you proceed? It's possible a Beta Release could totally screw up your entire system. I just completed a Private, by Invitation ONLY, Beta Testing for Corel's newly released version of VideoStudio. The last beta release even affected earlier stable versions. We (all beta testers), didn't like it, but we understand it could happen. It's brought to the attention of developers and hopefully corrected. I suggest you educate yourself a little more before you go willy-nilly downloading apps. It's going to cause you some serious headaches. What??? Really?? I know @Mark Ingram probably does not need anyone backing him up, but I'm going to. Is it really for you to determine, or think that the way this was handled not correct? I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the forum this morning to see that only 4 mins earlier he had posted this next beta version, fixing two things. Yesterday was when the problem with the Tone Mapping was discovered and was a major, major problem since it was grabbing and not releasing memory. Maybe that is what caused him to make an immediate fix available. The Develop issue didn't cause systems to freeze, and crash, and really hasn't been an issue very long at all. If fact I didn't experience it until the 240 Beta. I might not have experienced if I was going through my normal workflow, passing developed RAW images from Lightroom.
  3. I can confirm too. Is it just this one image? I notice it's from a Samsung (smartphone)? Does it crash with other images from that same phone? I played around dragging images created using my cellphone (Motorola MotoZ), and didn't get any crashing. It is strange, the image can be saved over (re-written) and it no longer crashes AP.
  4. Tested the Tone Mapping with the 240 Beta last night just before dinner. It hung going into the Tone Mapping Persona at roughly 40%, not quite half way. I left it, ate dinner and returned about 40 minutes later. It had not progressed, and in fact almost caused my entire system to crash, couldn't bring up Task Manager. I did finally manage to force close Photo. I still had to reboot my machine to get it to working smoothly again. This morning, I noticed just 4 minutes after Mark posted the 243 Beta link. Download/Installed, and tried Tone Mapping first, using the same CR2 RAW file as I used last night. WOW what a difference. 12 secs to load into Tone Mapping. Done a few adjustments, then hit develop and 3 secs to develop and back to working in Photo Persona. Good Work @Mark Ingram
  5. May I add, that if you're going to be doing a lot of I Product Photography you take a little time and learn how to properly set them up, and especially how to light them. You're example shot is a simple meter issue, where the camera's metering done what it is suppose to do, expose the image to a middle grey. YouTube Product Photography Lighting Techniques Learning this will save you hours in post processing.
  6. Like it's been stated, it's a beta version. Never, ever rely on a beta program to work correctly. It's for testing purposes. You'd really be in a twist if you were beta-testing the video editing app I'm testing. It's terrible, the developers do not pay much attention to the testers, and it will be released as the next upgrade, like it is. I've been testing for this company for over 10 yrs, and this will be their absolute worse one.
  7. Yes sir, can confirm and replicate easily. I found if you have another layer below it, like an image or if you just use New Fill Layer, it does not do this.
  8. Welcome to the forum @Gerrit Velthuis, You on a Mac or Windows? I seem to have no problem selecting the text entry part of dialog windows. In fact with AP you can enter math equations if you don't know the size you're needing, then press Enter and it will display the size. See my attached screen cap. I'm not sure why they don't have an Enter or Return button on their dialog windows. select text 04.wmv
  9. Bruise71 didn't answer this question. So as an Admin to Corel's Web forum, I decided to go see whom may be providing a link directly to the Beta, AND if they advise a product key is required. I did locate a website download82.com that does just that. I have not tried downloading and installing it from there, don't want to catch a virus. I did read a couple of comments, and while it's being advertised on that website as Free-Shareware, when they tried to install it, it does ask for a key.
  10. I was trying to see why the OP was having the problem. Using PSP was probably the wrong program to use, as it does not see it as with a transparent background. I just tried CorelDraw, and the transparency is maintained. PhotoPaint rejects SVG files. Of course I understand that for an object/image to be viewed like on the web or in a photo viewing app, there must be some background color, commonly white.
  11. Not so much. I've attached an example that I created, and did not set any special blend mode, just left it at Normal. The screenshot is how Paintshop Pro sees it. So far I'm finding the Affinity Photo is the only app that maintains the transparency. The image on the left with the blue background, I intentionally miss-cropped it to see if a white background is applied. Also for my example I used a gradient fill for the rectangle, Clipped it to the copyright text. svg test file.afphoto
  12. I want a new Wacom, but the one I'm using, a Wacom Intuos 3 Small, refuses to die, and works with with all programs I've installed. Oh and yes it's working fine in APhoto.
  13. I see that too. I did note that when you close the adjustment dialog and immediately re-open it, the dialog is synced to the layer panel.
  14. There's not a version 2.7, I'm guessing you meant the Beta Version. This is a bug and Affinity is aware of it. See this Thread
  15. I'm not aware of anyway to resize the Curves dialog window. We can only move it to the side out of the way. The only way to get the official release logo is to run the official release version.
  16. Your correct, they changed it. I just checked this out after reading your post. In 1.6 you can access those commands in View mode. Must have been a bug in 1.6
  17. Are you using 32bit HDR in the Develop Persona or 16 bit? It works with 16 bit but not 32 Bit HDR
  18. I agree with @Max P, it does not work. See attached video screencap 170231.wmv
  19. I can confirm this. I tried with CR2 files and the Saturation would not work. Move the slider from one extreme to the other, no change. Pixel images, jpg, png, tiff, the saturation slide works.
