  1. Corel Painter would be able to do that. However, the $5 wk is cheap compared to what Painter costs. Well I take that back. Corel is running a sale. You can get a subscription for only $109 per year or the non-sub is $229. 😯😲
  2. Might be a Mac only thing. I have no problems saving Curve Presets.
  3. There's a few reasons why. The Layer is Locked. Make sure the padlock icon is not showing at the right end of the layer. Press the padlock to unlock it. The Layer is Raw Embedded or Linked image. The Layer was an image that was Placed, thus being an image, not a Pixel Layer. If any of the above are true, right-click on the layer, or go to the Layer Menu, and choose Rasterize.
  4. Yep, it was a bug, but has been fixed. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=shape+builder+tool+crash+site%3Aforum.affinity.serif.com&t=ffab&ia=web
  5. What you are probably seeing in Windows Viewer is a JPEG not the actual RAW file. The JPEG file will be developed according to your camera settings, and are included for viewing instantly, on the view screen of cameras, web browsers, and OS apps like Windows Viewer.
  6. I'm thinking the Generic CMYK profile is only available on MAC. I show the same as MMJ, no Generic CMYK setting. (Windows 10).
  7. Welcome to the forums What I'm seeing is NX Studio seems to apply Noise Reduction and a lot of sharpening/blurring. AP Develop Persona presents you with the RAW file as it was captured by your camera, Unless in the Develop Assistant you've enabled Apply Tone Curve, Exposure Bias, Noise Reduction for both Luminance & Color. It allows you more control over the development of your RAW files. I think Serif still has a lot of work to do for their RAW file development. Most of the camera manufacturer's software will, and should do a much better job of this, because they're engineered by them for their specific products. Any camera tonal settings such as Landscape, Camera Standard, Camera Faithful, ect, (I shoot Canon cameras, so not familiar with Nikon's), are not interpreted by AP, so would cause the images to appear differently than what you may expect.
  8. Also storing files on external drives does nothing for RAM usage. RAM (Random Access Memory) is volatile. Drives, HDD, SSD ect, are for storing data, they're known as non-volatile. Unless the drive fails, the data remains. I think the issue you may have is due to not enough RAM. It needs to be large enough to hold ALL data your system needs to operate. This includes whatever the OS needs. So if you are trying to edit large images, documents, you need to have a lot of RAM. 8GB is not nearly enough. Do you have other apps running at the same time you're editing? This includes the internet, any anti-virus, apps to play music, watch videos, and the OS itself. When I hear large images I think of images in the range of >1GB, multi-gig images. I run a machine with 6 external multi-gig, multi-terabyte USB drives, and have 32 GB RAM, and still come up against the machine or app slowing down. I probably should update somethings like my GPU card, and RAM, but not in my budget. If you want to edit large documents/images I think you need to add more RAM, 8GB just doesn't do the job. The external drives are polled by the system, ie; it's like the system constantly asks them are you there, available for data, this data is suppose to be on you, is it there? If Affinity apps hit at the time, (milliseconds) when that external drive might be taking a nap, then the action fails, it can't save, and throws the error.
  9. @flying-cup welcome to the forums I think you and @Sana Rehman should try Resetting Fills, which is found when doing the Control Runup (hold down the Control key while launching the app). The Resetting Fills is found in the bottom section. It should reset the fills for all apps. Not sure it will work, but I'd say worth a try. I've never had this issue. I've tried this morning to get a crash, hang/freeze but it works fine on my machine.
  10. Welcome to the forums In the Preferences>Tools, what are the Tablet Input Method and Tool Handle Size settings? Try changing the Tablet Input Method and see if it helps.
  11. I think this is by design. How is the App to know how many copies without some sort of input? For example in CorelDraw, you can press the spacebar to place a copy, The spacebar press is the additional input needed each time you want to place a copy. However Affinity apps do not have this function. I also don't see this as a bug. I think we're suppose to set that option before typing the text, OR, using the Move Tool, select the Text (Artistic Text) then select the All Caps in the Typography.
  12. I'm not able to replicate this. It remains check when I check it, and unchecked when I choose to uncheck it.
  13. Yes, and your screenshot shows what Walt referred to. There's a known bug, when having several RAW files open in the Develop Persona, the first one developed will not develop correctly. This has been fixed in the BETA version.
  14. Here you go.. https://www.wacom.com/en-us/support/product-support/drivers To find which driver version you have installed, you need to open the Wacom Tablet Properties on your PC. Then click on the About button. The version should be displayed there.
  15. Are you wanting to create Light Beams? If so there's a bunch of videos out there showing how it's done in AP. Light Beams using Affinity Photo (YouTube)
  16. You can create Presets for whatever size you want. The Affinity apps New Document size when first opening/launching are Sticky, they remember the last one used. So if you're wanting the A2 size, just create a preset, open a new document with that. Until you change the document size, it will open with it. FWIW, there's no Default document sizes in the apps, and I for one, am very happy there's not. How frustrating would that be for all those that do not want a specific size that's been made the default? I don't work in those A sizes, so I would like none of them. I work in inches, and sizes that relate to photography.
