  1. You might have a look at this tutorial. https://affinityrevolution.com/color-correct-skin-affinity-photo-tutorial/
  2. That's possible, but it's getting to the point where maybe they should consider adding more to the teams? Earlier today I looked and seen where the older requests on the forums dated back 6 yrs. Serif claims they had worked 4 yrs prior to rolling out the Affinity lines, so that's about 10 yrs now. If the case is because they're so small, and at the progression they have had, the Affinity lines will be around 30 yrs old before some of the minor requests have been implemented. Corel has had this since pre-"X" versions, like version 8 or 9, and I can imagine Adobe has too. That's why people are starting to get frustrated, because it's such a common function or feature, and widely used. Also I came to starting using Affinity Photo, like the other thousands, to escape from Photoshop AND Lightroom. Not so much LR, I sort of like it. I still have the last perpetual version. What caught my attention was the word about Serif releasing a DAM, something to replace LR for me (and all the other masses). The key was "about to". So yep I purchased AP. That's been 4 yrs ago now. I stopped holding my breath 2 yrs ago. IMHO, it's not going to happen, maybe they considered it before, but I think that has fallen off the radar.
  3. Yep, they removed the roadmap over a year ago. Since they still have not added this feature which has been in most similar apps for well over 10 yrs, I'm thinking they may have planned on this being part of the 2.0 version. While Serif makes it a point not to reply in the Feedback/Features forums, they do look, so are well aware of this. Logically the only reason for them not to have implemented this is, to have 2.0 packed with new features (new to Affinity not to the design industry). Marketing???🤔
  4. Welcome to the forums @Robert Wahl, Do you mean the thumbnail size ? If so, go to the burger menu, the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner. Click on it and you get the option to change the thumbnail sizes from Small, Medium, and Large. I know trying to lengthen the Panels are a big pain, trying to get that double-headed arrow. How about dragging the Layers Panel out, then you can make it as long as you want. Do you know you can Customize the Studio and Save them? So move things around, get them how you need to work, then in the View menu, scroll down to Studio Presets>Add Preset.
  5. Welcome to the forums @BSDesign, I'm not sure what's going on with your font issue. Do you have a Font Manager installed? What version of Windows are you running? What graphic card(s) are you running? Are the drivers up to date? There are problems with the new Hardware Acceleration, OpenCL Compute feature. Can you go to Edit>Preferences>Performance and uncheck the box beside the Hardware Acceleration, restart Designer and see if that corrected your problem. In your second screenshot, it looks like you're trying to open a file. Affinity will not allow you to access the Windows>Fonts folder. Even though to open a file in one of the Affinity programs, it relies on Windows Explorer, it also limits access to some critical system files. You can download the Beta version, which have some of these Hardware Acceleration problems fixed. The betas run alongside the retail versions, so no need to uninstall it. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/33-designer-beta-on-windows/
  6. Welcome to the forums @Giggi, Which app are you using, Designer, Publisher or Photo?
  7. Welcome to the forums @FETTESfrettchen, What OS, Mac or Windows? What Graphics Card are you using? Since there's been problems with the new Hardware Acceleration, OpenCL Compute, I'm guessing it may be your problem. Go to Preferences>Performance, then down at the bottom there's a box beside the Hardware Acceleration Option. It's enabled (checked) by default. Uncheck it. Restart Designer, see if that corrected your problems. Without knowing what OS you're using, I'm not sure on which forum to refer you to download a Beta version. They have fixed some of the Hardware Acceleration issues in the Beta version. The Beta versions can run alongside the retail versions, so you do not need to uninstall it. Here's where you can find the Beta Forums. Select the appropriate one. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/60-affinity-designer-beta-forums/
  8. FWIW, in the 1.9.2 Beta versions they have included the ability to sort the brushes
  9. @JeffJ, What graphic card(s) are you using? Check to see if the drivers are up to date. If not make sure to download the most current one for your card, uninstall the old and install the current one. In Affinity Photo, go to Menu>Preferences, then Performance. Check to see if the box beside Hardware Acceleration is checked. If so uncheck it. Restart, and try again to see if that may have corrected your problem. They're having a lot of problems with the new Hardware Acceleration feature. You might also want to download and install the current Beta version, 1.9.2.1005. It can run alongside the retail version. They fixed some of the problems with Hardware Acceleration in it.
  10. @faraoh50, What graphic card(s) are you using? Are the drivers the most current? Make sure the drivers are current, and then go to Edit>Preferences>Performance. If the box beside Hardware Acceleration is checked, uncheck it. It seems they have a lot of issues with that new feature. Then try and see if that corrected the problem. You may also download and try the current Affinity Photo Beta. They just released a newer one today, that is suppose to fix a lot of the Hardware Acceleration issues.
  11. Corel uses a private beta testing format. You need to apply, plus sign an NDA. Then yes it's been customary for them to give those that actively participated in the beta testing a free copy of the released version. Serif however uses customers to beta test, no NDA required. I think the main difference is with Corel you're testing the next retail release, with Serif you're testing updates to the current retail release.
  12. @ebeiche, Reference your #2) Since the paintbrush is included on a flyout with the Color Replacement tool and Pixel tool, check to see that the paintbrush was not switched to the color replacement tool. It's happened to me numerous times. You might also to into Preferences>Tools and check the box beside Use Shift Key to cycle through.... Also are you referring to Ritson's Mask Layers Tutorial found in the Photo on Desktop tutorial forum?
  13. Welcome to the forums @Marc S., I can confirm that here, plus it gets more strange. Copying the Copy, not matter what method, CTL+C/CTL+V, hold CTL while dragging, or Duplicating the Layer in the Layers panel or Menu, the 2nd Copy seems to have a mask over it. You can see it in the Layers Panel, you can see it's selected on the preview window (document), by the selection box around it, but you can not see it. Since the Layers Panel shows what looks like a inverted mask (black box), tried inverting it and nothing. I also tried converting the rectangle to a curve, and still had no affect to reveal it. When the Group is selected in the Layers Panel it shows no fill or stroke. Changing that, still had no affect.
  14. To turn it off, go to Preferences>Performance, at the bottom of that tab, uncheck the box beside it.
  15. I don't think Affinity Photo is capable of doing this. Have you tried XnView MP? That's a very powerful program, is free for personal, non-commercial usage. https://www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/
  16. Welcome to the forums @Debenash, There's problems with the new Hardware Acceleration-OpenCL feature. If your system meets the specs, it is enabled by default. Could you disable it by going to Preferences>Performance and untick the box beside it. This should correct your issue for now until they get it fixed. You might also want to download the current Beta and try it. This issue might already be fixed. Photo Beta 1.9.2.997
  17. Have you entertained another brand? Wacom's products are very expensive, however there's others like Huion, XP Pen that are much more affordable, and are just as good as Wacom. For instance a Huion Kamvas 16" costs the same as what you probably paid for that 13". For about $499, you could get a XP Pen Artist 22, which provides you with 21.5" of drawing space.
  18. @Matty86, Could you please read This Post, and provide as much info as possible so Serif's team can help you with it? Most of the problems found in the 1.9 release are from the new Hardware Acceleration feature. Have you tried disabling it? Go to Preferences>Performance, and uncheck the box beside it. Restart the program and see if you still have the problems. If not you can run the current version without using the Hardware Acceleration.
  19. @Rufusbadger, I've tried to replicate this to no avail. I've tried using shapes and images. I do have and use a Wacom tablet, but it's not blue-tooth. I've tried it using my mouse, and my tablet.
