There is no live view when using denoise sliders.

    Welcome to the forums :)

Could you provide more information please?

    • Which Affinity App(s)
    • Which Version
    • Which DeNoise Filter, the Live Denoise or the one from Menu>Noise>DeNoise?
    • Attempting to apply it to a Pixel Layer?

I've tried it with both and works fine for me. Just a note, you should be zoomed in to around 100% to see if the filter is having any affect.

  2. Yes you can safely uninstall AP V1. The Affinity versions install separately and do not affect each other. The V1 apps would use the MSI/EXE installer, and show in Windows Add/Remove Programs of the Control Panel. Unless you specifically downloaded the MSI/EXE version for AP V2, it is Sandboxed, and not seen by the Add/Remove programs.

I'm curious what you are referring to as the uninstall menu, is this in Control Panel, Apps & Features of the Settings?

  3. Would you provide a  screenshot for us?

    1.  Copy/Paste this In the Windows>Start>Run
      1. %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Common\2.0\user

Screenshot the contents of that folder. It has all the *.propcol files. At the top is the assets.propcol file. Make sure the column for Size can be seen.

You can try going to the V1 folder containing the propcol files, locating the assests.propcol file. Then copy/pasting that file into the folder for V2. The V1 propcol files are located at %AppData%\Affinity\Designer\1.0\user. (Copy/paste or type that into the Windows>Run. It should open to the folder with the propcol files.

I'll try to upload a video showing how to do this

I haven't opened version 2 once without it crashing yet.  Running current version of Windows.

Why did I pay to upgrade to a version that doesn't work?  Any recourse for a refund?  Any  updates to fix this on the horizon?

Spending 30 minutes editing a photo, for the program to simply crash out of nowhere, ever time, isn't the ideal work situation.

What Affinity App and version. The MSIX or MSI/EXE?

If it's the MSIX, which is the sandboxed version, then try uninstalling it, download and install the MSI/EXE, see if that helps.

If you are wanting a Refund then see this link:

You could also try disabling HA/Open CL. (Hardware Acceleration)

  5. Ok done a quick test. This is what I done and my findings. Keep in mind, there's absolutely nothing scientific about this.

Done on a Windows 10 machine.

Using the same image, which was a CR2 file that was Rasterized so that I would be exporting a Pixel layer/image, I ran down the list of PDF options in the Export dialog. This provided 7 PDF files.

I then attempted to open each in CDGS 2017. I received the File is Corrupt error for all except for the X/3-2003. CDGS was able to open this file.Next I then tested using my browser, Firefox, and was able to open/view all the PDF files. Finally using PSP 2023, I was able to open all the PDF files.
