I can confirm this, not only in AD but AP as well.
-
Yes you can safely uninstall AP V1. The Affinity versions install separately and do not affect each other. The V1 apps would use the MSI/EXE installer, and show in Windows Add/Remove Programs of the Control Panel. Unless you specifically downloaded the MSI/EXE version for AP V2, it is Sandboxed, and not seen by the Add/Remove programs.
I'm curious what you are referring to as the uninstall menu, is this in Control Panel, Apps & Features of the Settings?

Same here. 2 is still crashing on win 10:(
I'm using also 1 and its much better.
Is this using 2.1? If so, they just went live with 2.2. Try downloading and installing it to see if it crashes for you.
-
Are you referring to the Separated Mode for V1 ? This is no longer available in V2 for Macs. I'm not aware of any Full Screen command in the Affinity apps.
In Windows there was no Separated Mode. Instead we use Windows>Float. The windows can then be resized to your liking.

Here's the video showing how to copy the V1 assets.propcol file to V2.
-
Would you provide a screenshot for us?
-
Copy/Paste this In the Windows>Start>Run
- %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Common\2.0\user
Screenshot the contents of that folder. It has all the *.propcol files. At the top is the assets.propcol file. Make sure the column for Size can be seen.
You can try going to the V1 folder containing the propcol files, locating the assests.propcol file. Then copy/pasting that file into the folder for V2. The V1 propcol files are located at %AppData%\Affinity\Designer\1.0\user. (Copy/paste or type that into the Windows>Run. It should open to the folder with the propcol files.
I'll try to upload a video showing how to do this

This has been requested in the past. We have a Feedback and Suggestions forum, where you can post your support for this. A simple search would reveal this, instead of starting a new post.

I haven't opened version 2 once without it crashing yet. Running current version of Windows.
Why did I pay to upgrade to a version that doesn't work? Any recourse for a refund? Any updates to fix this on the horizon?
Spending 30 minutes editing a photo, for the program to simply crash out of nowhere, ever time, isn't the ideal work situation.
What Affinity App and version. The MSIX or MSI/EXE?
If it's the MSIX, which is the sandboxed version, then try uninstalling it, download and install the MSI/EXE, see if that helps.
If you are wanting a Refund then see this link:

You could also try disabling HA/Open CL. (Hardware Acceleration)

I've had the same happen for the last two updates, 1994 and now 2005, both times it was with Photo.

I just checked, and not present in V1 of the apps,

I can confirm what @Furry is reporting. However I can successfully drag the vector without an new file open, ie; blank. This is true for several of the vectors. I'm thinking it maybe on Pixabay's side, not Affinity.
FWIW, I tried using the current Beta, finding the same in those.
-
This happens in all the Current Beta (1986) apps, not just Publisher.
Oops, just re-read Gnobelix's post, and he reported all apps.

Hi @FotoMonkey, welcome to the forums,
What format are the files being processed to? WEBP and EXR, the Metadata is not preserved, ie; embedded. In the others you just need to ensure the Embed Metadata box is selected. This is found by clicking the the 3 dots to the right.

Ok done a quick test. This is what I done and my findings. Keep in mind, there's absolutely nothing scientific about this.
Done on a Windows 10 machine.
Using the same image, which was a CR2 file that was Rasterized so that I would be exporting a Pixel layer/image, I ran down the list of PDF options in the Export dialog. This provided 7 PDF files.
I then attempted to open each in CDGS 2017. I received the File is Corrupt error for all except for the X/3-2003. CDGS was able to open this file.Next I then tested using my browser, Firefox, and was able to open/view all the PDF files. Finally using PSP 2023, I was able to open all the PDF files.

Is that true for any PDF exported from AP or are there some that throw errors & others that don't?
I didn't test every possible PDF export option. I did test PDF/X4, which had the Use advance features selected, and then the PDF/X-1a-2003. Also I just used a CR2 image for my test.

I doubt writing Panasonic will expedite Libraw releasing the most current, which supports the GH6. The bottleneck in this whole process is Libraw. They can take their sweet time, which does not affect them at all.
My .02, maybe Serif needs to do this in-house, instead of being at the mercy of Libraw. However to be fair, it's not only Serif, Libraw exerts this control over.

FWIW, I was able to open PDF files from AP in PSP 2023. I also tried in PhotoPaint, and was not able to. It threw a circular error. It rejected opening the file and told me to try Importing it. Trying Import, I got an error that told me to try opening.

You can change the hardness for the Basic Brushes, and some of the Frankentoon Splat brushes.

I'm not a Mac user, but in Windows, CTL + N is the shortcut for New Document, and it works as it should in all Affinity Apps.
CTL + Shift + N is the shortcut for New Layer, and it also works as it should.
So perhaps a Mac thing?
-
It wasn't crashing for me before, now it does, but only when dragging onto an open blank document.

Dragging vector images from the Stock menu into AD Beta 1931, works fine for me on Win10. I tried dragging every way I could think of, no crashing.

Welcome to the forums
Could you provide more information please?
I've tried it with both and works fine for me. Just a note, you should be zoomed in to around 100% to see if the filter is having any affect.
