  1. Hi NigelJH, Glad you were able to solve this, and thanks for letting us know what that was.
  2. Welcome to the forums, Your color layer needs to be a child layer of the Pink Group. You can do this by dragging it down, ontop of the Pink Group, or in the Arrange Menu, select Move Inside. https://affinity.help/photo/en-US.lproj/pages/LayerOperations/clipping.html
  3. This is correct, which is not AP making that determination, it's your OS. I can choose Open With all day long and choose AP, AD or any other app, and the association does not change, unless I check the box beside Always Use this App... That's why I say it's not Affinity, you told your OS you want those file types associated/opened with Affinity Apps.
  4. In AP, the Assistant Manager, do you have Exposure Bias & Tone Curve enabled? Try disabling those, and see if will allow you to get closer to your LR processing. I also use LR, (the last perpetual version), and if I develop in LR, I will not use the Develop Persona in Affinity. For extreme cases, like your underexposed image, I find LR does a better job.
  5. Yes it must be a MAC bug, I don't get that in Windows. There's no Pixel Brush Tool under Designer, and no Vector Brush Tool under Pixel.
  6. You must set a Pressure Curve first. Then in the Properties the curve adjustments will be applied. 2022-04-27 03-07-03.mp4
  7. No, Affinity Photo did not change the file type, Windows done that. Why? Because you told it to. When you tell Windows to open a file with a specific app, like AP, Windows may associate, think you want to use that app to open all of those file types. To change it, (I have them set to open using Windows Photo Viewer), right-click on an image, then either select properties or Open With... Select another app you want to use to open the image (file type) when you double-click on it from a File Explorer window.
  8. Try changing the Size Variance on that brush properties. In your screenshot it's set to 75% for the first one and 0% for the one you're having problems with. I think it needs to be greater than 0%.
  9. Yes, it's the number, in your case 8. While having a brush selected, pressing numerical keys, 0-9 sets the Opacity. 0=100%, 1=10% and so on.
  10. In the Assistant Manager, check the boxes to Tone Curve & Exposure Bias, to have AP apply those, and your RAW file should not appear flat.
  11. Photo restoration, depending on how damaged the photo is, can be very time consuming and complex. There's several tutorials available, just do a search for Photo Restoration using Affinity Photo Here's a couple from Youtube. Restore Old Pictures in Affinity Photo Affinity Photo; Fix Old Photos//Restoration Guide Simon Foster's Little Box of Tricks, which is found on Udemy.com, I purchased a few of his tutorials. His tutorials are very detailed, and easy to understand.
  12. Is your layer an (Pixel) or (Image) layer? If it is an (image) layer it must be rasterized to be able to clone. Right-click on it and choose Rasterize.
  13. I think you might be glossing over the preset aspect. The same that happens when you make a change to a brush preset, happens to any other preset in the Affinity apps. If you select a Curve preset in Photo or Designer, then make changes, it is no longer that preset. Affinity Photo's Styles are presets, and the same will happen when you select one, then tweak/alter, make changes to it. You no longer are using that specific preset. The parameters that make up the preset are now different. That said, I agree there should be something keeping track of where you started. For now, make a quick note of the brush number you selected, which however is just the size so, yeah, probably won't work either. 😒
  14. True NOT TRUE. It seems you don't understand how Adjustment layers and Live Filter Layers work in Affinity (Photo ?). You've received a reply in your other post, which is asking for more information from you. Please reply to that. If you're seeing this behavior, where you can not further edit your adjustment layers when they're child to a parent, something else may be at play. 15. You've posted in the Photo Bugs found on Windows forum. If necessary, a moderator will move this to the proper forum. I'm going to assume you're running Windows OS, correct? They may also ask for the crash reports, so please attach the most recent relevant to the crashing to your next post.
  16. Seems to work fine, on Windows 10, when used properly. The short flashing of a rectangle seen in the video, is me releasing and pressing the Control Key, which would be the command key on Macs. 2022-04-13 13-10-09.mp4
  17. You need to use the Node Tool to modify a curve/path. Using the Node Tool you can still modify the path with Text applied to it.
  18. @smadell, created a Luminosity Macro and shared it in our Learn Share Resources section.
  19. Welcome to the forums @Becca77777, As far as I'm aware, Serif does not sell it's products by subscription, just perpetual. By what you're describing there shouldn't be a problem. However here's the info regarding licenses .
  20. If you do not want the guides shown in Percent, then uncheck the box beside Percent at the bottom left.
  21. The default keyboard shortcut for the color picker tool is I. Just press I and you can click to select colors, or click-drag for the magnifying glass selector. We can not choose to use the Alt key modifier, it's reserved by the app. Assigning another key can be done in the Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts>Tools.
  22. Welcome to the forums @sgnibuttsauhsoj, Is your document consisting of Artboards? If so there is no document size covering all artboards. You can resize each artboard, but not collectively.
