Have you checked all the brush settings? Protect Alpha catches a lot people, myself included. Also check to ensure the brush didn't change. They stack the Color Replacement Tool with the Paintbrush Tool. I've found at times, even though in Preferences, I have Use Shift Key to Cycle Tool Groups checked, the brush will change when using the shortcut key. Also color being used, black for white mask, and white for black? Mask in the correct position on the layer stack? Is it nested (child) or on top? If none of those suggestions help, please post screenshot. We need to see your layer panel, and brush used along with the context toolbar showing the settings for the brush. If possible attach a video capture showing the problem.

Are you using Affinity Photo or Designer? I ask because the UI for each app are the same in Windows and Mac (Except Designer does not have an Adjustment Studio). GarryP's screenshot is of Photo on Windows. The Recolor Adjustment can be accessed by; Clicking on the Adjustment Layer Icon at the bottom of the Layers Panel. It's a half-shaded circle. Using the Adjustment Panel (studio) Layer menu>New Adjustment Layer

Welcome to the forums @ilovelean, So far with the information you've provided I've narrowed it down to one of these: Affinity Designer Crash You need to provide a lot more information so someone can figure out why Designer crashed. What OS, Windows or Mac? What versions? What version of Designer? Yes some people are still running older versions, where problems have been corrected on the most recent. What were you working on when Designer crashed? You may have a crash report that Serif can use to help figure out why. Please locate it and attach it to your reply.

Hi @JodyN, This is because of the Blend Mode being set to Screen. Click on the Cog Icon for the Outer Glow FX, then at the top change the Blend Mode to Darken -
How old a Wacom? I'm using an Intuos 3, PTZ431W, the driver version is 6.3.15-3.

I'm not able to replicate this. What would you consider extremely rapidly? I scribbled as fast as I could. For how long? 1 min, 10 mins? Eventually, like some time in an hour? Is this suppose to represent some actual usage of the app?

I've downloaded your image, and it seems as it's been corrupted. While the whole image is viewable in photo viewing apps such as FastStone Image Viewer, and XnView MP, there's not enough data in the RAW file to be developed. I've tried a couple of apps, and it just shows the upper left corner of the image, the rest is black. Another thing that indicates the file is corrupt, the file size being only 9.13MB. The resolution size is 6000 x 4000, which should give you a file size of 24MB. Do you have another SD card to test to see if the card these were recorded to is bad? If other SD cards show the same, then something may have gone bad with your camera. Also try shooting some images in JPG, not RAW.

Welcome to the forums @galindox, There is a Feature Requests & Suggestions forum. Just search to see if someone has already suggested what you are. If so add you voice to that thread. If not start one. As far as the roadmap is concerned, Serif did have one, however they removed it from public view, because too many people were offended when the feature they wanted was not being implemented when they thought it should be. Peace of mind for staff, well I'm sure they do, some customers don't because of wanting things immediately.

I'm not a Mac user, so this may not be the case. On Windows, I can not recall being able to CTL(CMD)+Click to select Child Adjustments. EDIT, Wait, Hold the Door, Just after typing the above, I went into AP to confirm a menu item. Well, I moved all the child adjustments out, above the background they're attached to. So I selected all of them, and using the menu Arrange>Move Inside, moved them all back to child adjustment layers. Here's the weird, not so weird when it comes to Affinity. Before doing this, like you I could not select them. Now I can, just make sure you're clicking on the label (name), not the thumbnail. I'll probably go back in AP & discover I can no longer.... Just like I thought. Checked again in AP, and discovered this. I would say it's a bug.. When you first add adjustment layers, and they're child layers, then you can not using the Cmd or Ctl + Click to select them. There's a Menu item found only on the Right-Click Menu for the Layer Stacks, called Release Adjustment. Release Adjustment moves it out, above the layer it's attached to. (There's a menu item, Arrange>Move Outside, that moves the adjustment layer out). But to Move several of the adjustment layers out, you must select one at a time, Right-Click (Windows) and choose Release Adjustment. Once you have all the adjustment layers you want to group, moved out, then select all of them. You can use the Click first one, press & hold Shift, click the last one, and from the Arrange Menu, select Move inside. Once they're back inside (child layers), then you can use Cmd + Click to select them and Group. IMHO, real fiddly, and probably a bug.

Welcome to the forums, Where are the placed image files stored? Are they on an external hard drive, cloud, or network? Affinity has problems with maintaining a connection with network drives, and clouds. If they are stored externally, try moving them to your internal drive and see if the problem goes away.

Done some tutorial researching, and I think I found something far better than the technique you're describing, and you can do it in Designer. You don't need the Channels Studio. I'll let the pro, Olivio Sarikas, show you how it's done in Affinity Photo. Just follow the same steps in Designer. I just tried and confirmed it works. Important note, some of what Olivio demonstrates, like Inverting the Curves Adjustment Layer, can not be done in Designer. If you're needing to do a lot of work on Pixels in an image, then Affinity Photo offers way more flexibility. Designer is far better for working with vectors.

Welcome to the forums, Could you provide a link to a AP tutorial showing this technique, so we can have an idea on what's being done. I can think of a few ways to do this, using selections, and various adjustment layers. Edited; Designer does not have the Channels Studio. So if you're using it to select the darker or shadow areas of an image, it's not going to be possible using that technique. I'll wait until you point to a tutorial showing the technique you're asking about, to comment further.

Welcome to the forums, As Carl123 posted, it's not a bug, as being referenced in this thread. The Flood Select Tool works off the colors. Opacity, Hues, ect, are Features that are not part of the tool. Serif may or may not add them in the future. https://affinity.help/photo/en-US.lproj/pages/Tools/tools_floodSelect.html

Welcome to the forums @CGK, Just a couple of notes, Using the filters from the Filter Menu are destructive. Once applied they can not be changed. Using those filters will require your vector shape to be rasterized. It might not matter, but just be aware of that, if you need to keep them as vectors. Using Live Filters, are non-destructive. You can go back and make changes. Using Live Filters do not require your vectors to be rasterized first. Short video on how they work. 2022-04-29 01-30-57.mp4
