  1. I also checked V1, and V2 (2.2.1), and V2.3. The bug only occurs in V2.3.
  2. With all that fiddling around, the building still looks like it is falling away.
  3. Wow, you shot that way too close for that Ultra-Wide Angle Lens. I shoot with about the equivalent Tokina, 11-18mm. Unless you have a telehandler, or real, real tall ladder to get the lens squared-off with the building, you're not going to easily get rid of all that distortion. To get shots of tall buildings you need to use a Tilt-Shift lens. FWIW, I did try to see if AP could correct it, and gave up after about 30 mins. In fact I don't think PS could do anything with this.
  4. I've never seen this prompt with any of the Affinity apps. This is the notice it shows when there is an update available. Have you already updated to 2.3 from 2.2 ? Are you by chance running the installer, instead of just launching the app? People have mistakenly clicked on the installer after having installed the apps. I know you said you've tried everything mentioned in this thread, but if the apps are installed, doing the Control Run-up (holding the CTL key while launching), the Reset dialog should appear in front of the splash screen, if the app is not already running. Which version, MSIX or MSI/EXE did you install? If you installed using the MSIX, uninstall them, download and install the MSI/EXE.
  5. Not new to 2.3, crashes the 2.2.1 versions too. Attempted to locate other reports of this crashing, since it is also crashing the previous versions, and could not. FWIW, my GPU (Nvidia) just done a driver update a couple days ago, as well as Windows. The version 1 apps are not affected. 36e381ba-89ca-4d90-b030-716b91256eb5.dmp 97c02954-2bac-4535-b401-fd1b2d33e7f5.dmp 5cfed021-51cc-487b-895f-4c10e5a44983.dmp
  6. Same here, but I don't consider it a big deal. I've had to do that for other programs too. I try to remember to unpin them before updating, then pin them again once updated.
  7. Welcome to the forums @Felis, I don't think it's a problem with your tablet. I get what appears to be the brush not working on my Wacom Intuos 3. I discovered I could alter the Accumulation Jitter, found in the Dynamics settings for the brush, it would work. Try reducing the 100% setting or changing the Velocity to some other, like none. I'm not sure, but I think it's more of an issue with the brush interacting with Affinity Photo.
  8. Video illustrating this. I don't know why just moving the Pixel layer corrects it, or better yet why the Inpainting yields the black if it's not. 2023-12-04 04-23-51.mp4
  9. No, I tried that before I last posted. The Pixel layer needs to be at the top of the Layer stack, if the OP is using a blank pixel layer for removing items.
  10. In your example file, move the Pixel Layer outside the Group and to the top of the Layer stack. The inpainting brush should work now.
  11. I've tried this numerous times using 2.3, followed your recipe, and can not replicate this problem. I've also tried it with several of the presets I've created, and it works as it should. I've also looked for some other settings that might aid or cause it, and so far nothing found.
  12. Welcome to the forums Not that I can find. I've tried about every way, modifiers, and I can't pan/scroll with the Straighten tool.
  13. There's not a Auto Save in Affinity apps. However there is a File Recovery Interval setting. It is found in the Settings>Performance of the app. Online Help>Performance>Settings
  14. Welcome to the forums @Angela M There's several on Youtube Snow Effect in Affinity Photo
  15. Those instructions for PS can be followed in AP, with the exception of the Smart Object. I don't think it's required. Just make sure you have a Background Layer, ie; a Rectangle, filled with White, at the bottom of the Layer stack. Play around with it to achieve the look you want. I've attached my afphoto file so you can see the Layer stack is basically the same as what is shown in your provided video. SOgrungeFX.afphoto
  16. @Kerrie Kingsley, Welcome to the forums Are there problems, bugs? Yes there are. However your trial use would expire before you could read through all of them to know if they are affecting you. So we need to narrow it down a lot. What OS are you using, Mac or Windows, and what version? Could you provide some information on your system hardware? RAM, CPU, GPU, and if you're working off files stored externally (NAS, USB, Cloud)? Describe as detailed as possible what you are doing with the crash occurs? Better yet, provide screenshots or video capture of this happening. Ultimately if there's a problem within the file, could you upload a problem .afdesign file. This is done by just attaching to your post. If there's privacy issues, Serif staff can provide a dropbox link for you. Then aside from all that, if you could pay all expenses plus a modest $10k a day salary, someone might just fly to your location where they could see first hand why you're having problems. Of course there's no guarantee the problem would be fixed.
  17. Ok, I didn't think Mac has a Control Key. However Serif's instructions for resetting the apps, mention pressing and holding the Control key..
  18. Welcome to the forums @old-senior80, Have you tried doing a Control Run Up? Press and Hold the Command Key (Control on Windows), then launch AP. Keep holding down the Command key until you see the Clear User Data dialog window. By default Clear User Data should have the top 3 options selected. One of those being Reset Studio. Press the Clear button at the bottom, AP should continue to load. Are you running multiple monitors? This shouldn't be applicable here, since you've reinstalled, but just something else to try. IF so, and the studios are not docked, (floating), try Dock All found under the Windows>Arrange menu (in windows OS), not sure if it's the same for Mac.
  19. Welcome to the forums @Mikeymcg, Could you try doing a Control Run up? Press and Hold the Control key while launching Designer, until you get the following dialog window; Then check the box highlighted in red, then press Clear. Designer will start. Does that seem to get your choices back?
  20. Welcome to the forums Are you getting any prompts/warnings when you attempt to open files? If so what do they say? What do you mean by the files? What type of files and where do they reside? Could you please attach one to your post so someone could try and see if it might be a problem with the file(s)?
  21. @patsu, Did you leave AP running for a long time when the crashing occurred? Did you shutdown or Restart your PC between the time you experienced the crashing and now no crashing? I am running Win10, and have tried to replicate the problem. I don't have any CR3 files, but do use CR2. I've had up to 5 CR2 files and some JPG open at once and did not experience a crash.
  22. I only have 32GB RAM, and testing the OP's file, I also show a lag while moving the Group around the desktop. I tried disabling the Gaussian Blur on all the layers. It helped a little, but was still a little lagging. I then noticed the Shadow FX and disabled them, leaving the Blur enabled, again lagging. I then rasterized those layers with the FX. This was the best, however still a little lagging. NOTE: the lag was only noticeable with zoom >54% (on my system). I changed my System Performance for Apub, from 25GB ram to full 32GB, and that made no noticeable difference. I agree with NotMyFault, some of the Layer FX, like Blurs, and Shadows can tax your system RAM.
