  1. Just noticed all 3 apps will generate crash reports when they did not crash. Just closing a document, not wanting to save it, Affinity apps register this as a crash.

I had checked the Crash Reports folder just prior, noticing there were no crash reports. Then opened a project, using the Sample document for each, done some minor changes, then decided I didn't want to save, and just closed. Afterwards I inspected the Crash Reports folders and seen a report, each having the date-time stamp showing these were created from my testing just now. Again, none of the apps crashed, they were manually closed by me.

  2. Welcome to the forums @Ngarrison, :)

Not being a Mac user, I done a quick internet search and learned that Mac OS has a system function called Force Quit that is similar to Windows Task Manager.

    Force Quit

The reason I mention that, is on Windows I utilize Task Manager to shut down/force quit apps that freeze and will not shutdown. If you can't shutdown your laptop, you need to force Publisher to stop.

Once you succeed in stopping Publisher, then hold down the CTL key, while launching Publisher again. This should bring up Clear User Data dialog. Try checking the box beside Disable Hardware Acceleration, then press the Clear button at the bottom. Publisher should finish launching.

One thing I'm not clear on, completely inaccessible, how so? Does it open at all?

If the above does not work, could you provide a screen recording showing what's happening?

  3. Do you have any current issues with your internet connection? I've had problems over the last couple weeks. My ISP would constantly drop. Sometimes lasting for just a minute or two, then others lasting for a couple days, not constant, but constantly up/down, repeatedly. I could be working along fine, then suddenly it would drop. Then back in a minute, then after a couple minutes drop again. Bad weather could be the problem, but I attribute a poor ISP. I use DSL, only thing available to me.

I spent the past hour testing this, and have not been able to replicate it, ie; no problem with either of them. Pexels however, loads slower than Pixabay.

  4. This is the only way I can replicate this.

    1. Add the Adjustment Layer above the Background Image
    2. Select the Group Icon, found at the bottom of the Layers Panel.
    3. With the Group Layer selected, apply the Mask, to the Group.
      • However look at the icon for the Group Layer. It's at the Far Left. It shows null icon, circle with diagonal line through it.
      • Paint Black on the Mask
    4. Move/Nest the Adjustment Layer inside the Group.
    5. The Transparency painted on the Mask is maintained.

I think this is a bug...

  5. On my PC, Zoom In shortcuts are:

    • Mouse Scroll Wheel
    • Ctl +
    • Ctl =
    • Ctl + Spacebar + Dragging
    • Ctl + 1 or 2 or 3....

Take your pick, mix and match to whatever works for you. I will say I like how Serif set this up in their apps. Some other apps, we have maybe one or two ways to do this, and the developers decide, and don't provide us with much of a way to modify. ;)

  6. @rlratkey, I can not replicate this on any version.

    • You are letting the Refine Selection, complete painting the mask?
    • You are getting the Refine Selection Dialog (adjustments) ?
    • Are you running the MSIX or the MSI/EXE versions?

I tried searching for other reports of this behavior and so far have not located any. You could try doing a Control Run-Up to see if that might fix the issue. Press and Hold the Control key then launch AP. The reset dialog will appear. Second from the top options, Don't Restore Window and Documents, is checked. Uncheck it and see if that fixes it.

Hi @DRjohn and welcome to the forums.

As far as I know, the programs can only be obtained directly from Serif or from the Microsoft store or Apple store, but not from other resellers like B&H.

Yes, it can be purchased from B&H Photo/Video

@DRjohn, Welcome to the forums, :)

What OS and Version are you running?

    Are you having problems Installing?

Did you manage to get it installed and it's not wanting to launch/run?

  8. Yes you can EDIT some of the EXIF data. Go to the Windows menu and scroll down to Metadata, make sure there's a check beside it. If not click on it, now you should have a Metadata Panel. See video for further information.

When Exporting an image, at the bottom of the Advanced tab, you can uncheck the box beside Embed Metadata, if you want the Metadata stripped from your image.
