Same here. Publisher 1.9 + 1.9.1 crashes when I try to import pages from another publisher document on Mac.
It doesn't matter whether I want to add the page first, after the last or somewhere in between. It also doesn't matter whether I ignore the section or not. With the styles, it doesn't matter whether I overwrite or rename them. The Publisher also crashes with the default settings. I have tried many and also a few pages with always the same result: Crash
I didn't have this problem with the previous version.
Specs:
- Publisher v1.9 + 1.9.1 (also same in Beta)
- MacBook Pro 16" (2019)
- OS X 10.15.7
- 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
- 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
- AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB / Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Indeed a DAM does normally use its own structure. My first experience of a simple system now called DAM was a system which I built over 35 years ago. It was for controlling CAD drawings in a multiuser environment. The files were on a server and copies were moved into user directories on the same server.
A later system built with a colleague added functionality for engineers. The new database (now Oracle) and drawing files were on a server. The user interface was built with Oracle forms and the stuff hidden from end users was written in C and SQL. That sort of system is not what is needed for a single user system. I have been retired over 25 years and my skills with C ,Oracle 8 and Oracle forms are long forgotten.
What is needed is something like LR. The database needs to run without the services of a DBA. LR uses a local SQLite which is perfect for the job. I have not investigated neoFinder or abeMeda in detail but it seems to use a similar system. Ideally one needs to be able to recover all files even if the DAM becomes obsolete. That seems to be the case for LR and abeMeda. Extracting the files from Eagle without Eagle would be very laborious. Eagle seems not to use a proper database. I see it as very ingenious but a dead end.
Yeah, it doesn't seem like what you're looking for. Personally, I wouldn't necessarily call it a DAM either. If you want to be able to copy or move your data 1:1 again and keep the structure, it's certainly not suitable for that.
Neofinder I had also used for a while, even back when it was still called CDFinder I had it once in use, but with this interface I just can not make friends. abeMeda looks pretty similar, also there is no Mac variant. Otherwise, as I said, maybe ACDSee Photo Studio is an alternative for you?

As far as I can tell Eagle cannot integrate well with any application that generates additional files rather than just modifying existing files. I will leave it installed for the rest of the trial period. Perhaps I have missed some important features.
Then this is certainly not for your use case. But a DAM usually has its own structure and does not copy the one not from the desktop, because it is on an external drive/server to which all users have access. So you can't use your local structure. In this case, you might be better off with a file manager that includes a preview for the applications you need. You could look at the new „ACDsee for Mac“ DAM that works with your existing structure, but I don't know if the Affinity apps have previews.

Just came across this topic because of preview and DAM. I tested a few DAM, and there are a lot of differences from small to big, from file management to brand-related, etc... As a DAM manager, I can say it's not easy to find the perfect DAM, and if you find it, this will not be cheap - not for private use.
Nevertheless, for private use there are a few good solutions that are suitable. If someone is technically well versed, he can get the free Pimcore DAM, which can be designed according to your own wishes and also extended. As an alternative for the small purse, I can recommend Eagle (https://eagle.cool). This application also handles the preview of all Affinity programs and costs only $29.95 for a lifetime license! Everything else has already been mentioned.

Yes, this is so frustrating, as they sometimes also get reset when the app crashes. It would be nice if all Affinity apps could save the layout like Adobe with the possibility to have also several layouts. I use several layouts for example if I’m working only on the MacBook Pro (w/t my second screen) , then I change to the "small screen" layout, otherwise I use the "double screen layout".

Not Apple launched a tool, the new beta from Affinity Photo (1.7) supports now the HEIC/F format.
The workaround you can do with Apple is to import your HEIC/F pics into iPhoto first and export them in a second step in a different format.

Sure there is. But why using other 3rd party tools? If you use AP or PS that are pro tools, you expect to be able to do that. AP for iPad already supports this format, so why not AP for Desktop?
To be fair: In the current beta (1.7) HEIC/F is supported.

When I start AP or AD the windows are not anymore at the same position. This happen everytime when I take my MacBook Pro to work in a different place and unplug it from the big screen. It would be great to save the window positions as it is possible in Photoshop. For example I'm using 2 working areas: One for the big screen and one for a smaller screen or when I'm using only the MacBook Pro w/t an external screen. Like that I can choose which environment I'm using and all my windows are arranged like I need just with a few clicks. In AP or AD it's not possible but would be very nice and very helpful! Otherwise all windows have to be rearranged everytime again. It would be also nice if a newer app version, or a beta version, would import all settings automatically from the existing version. If this isn't possible implement a function to import all settings incl. windows arrangement to the newer version or into the beta.

It asks because it cannot find the purchased copy - but it only looks in /Applications for it.. If you have moved the purchased copy into some subdirectory, or not in /Applications, please move it back to /Applications then it should work

I just downloaded the beta version to try because of HEIC/HEIF support which I missed in 1.6.7, but when I start the beta I have to write a product key. Where can I find this key? I purchased the App via AppStore, so there is no key.

There is still no support for the HEIC/HEIF format on the desktop app (v. 1.6.7). It's more than a year this topic was opened and just one answer from Serif. It's more as disappointing to support this format only on iPad version but not in the desktop. I also couldn't find it on the roadmap, so when will Serif implement this format? Many users need it and ask for this format, but nothing moves.
I'm an AP user from the beginning and worked also with the beta versions and was always happy to see AP getting better and better, but more that a year w/t an answer on this topic it is unsatisfying.
I tested also different converters for HEIC/HEIF format and not all of the created exports are possible to open in AP, what really surprised me. In the end I chose AnyMP4 and iMazing (both from AppStore) to convert HEIC/HEIF format into PNG or JPG. The JPG is not a problem to open, but the converted PNG's from iMazing are not possible to open and if i check the file information there are some jpg informations included which irritates me. But this one is possible to open with Adobe Photoshop CS6 till version CC 2018. Conversely, the converted PNG's from AnyMP4 can not be opened in Adobe Photoshop but in Affinity Photo. Strange world. In the end it would be the best to support finally the HEIC/HEIF format instead of relying on third-party software.

The same issue happen on my MacBook Pro 16" with Affinity Photo 2 2.0.4
Specs:
I made the Layers palette wider than it is in the default. When I reduce the size of the palette, the toggle visibility dots appear again, but when I increase the size of the palette, the dots disappear after a few seconds.
