500 pixels is rather small.
A monitor is typically 1920 x 1080, so only a quarter of the width.
For litho printing, 500 pixels is only just about good enough for a 2" wide picture.

Draw a vector shape.
You can draw it one inch wide, print it one mile wide and the edges will still be smooth.

Draw it as a shape and if you export to JPEG it will be flattened to pixels on output.
