reminous got a reaction from ledoconguyen in Change default constraints
    Hi there,
You can actually achieve that today using two different methods:
    1) Create your design using objects and artistic text, then group them and apply constraints (View/Studio/Constraints). Then set the text to not scale, you might want to constraint the left and top position as well. I bet that this would be de most common method since you're doing UX and the constraints were actually build with that in mind.
    2) You could simple create your design with frame text instead artistic text... Then you just select your objects (group it if you want) and scale the whole think without worrying because the text frame will expand/stretch but the text will remain the same. If you want to scale the text, you can do it by using the second marker on the corner.
I did two quick videos to illustrate it better. I hope it solves your problem!

    Hi there,
I was wondered why the colour palete look different in AffinityPhoto if compared with AffinityDesigner (and Publisher)... I can understand that on AP, you may use this palete to switch colour between your brush tool, however, I also have to confess that I'm always confused when I need to change the stroke a color of a shape from that same palete...
Maybe it would be a good idea have this palete smart and change its appearance when a shape is selected so we would have the AffinityDesigner look?

    Hi 99Combo,
I also use AF for social medias. In my case I created an artboard template with everything I usually like background, text, logo, etc... then all you need to do is create an Asset. If you are a freak like myself, you would find very interesting create a new category for each client...
After your artboard/asset is created, all you need to do is create any AF document with 72DPI/RGB and then drag our artboard into the document.
    I hope it helps!

    Hi Reminous,

I've reproduced it and it is similar to an issue I found last week. Essentially whilst you've got the Move Tool selected, it will remember any form of text selection you made. So by default there isn't a selection, which is why the shortcut isn't working. However if you make a text selection in your text frame, switch back to the move tool and then use the shortcut it will actually operate on that text selection you made (despite the whole frame being selected).

I'll get this passed on to development.

First of all, AD is getting better and better... However, going through the beta version I'd love to see a few things some of us have been craving since the first version.
    1) Lines with arrowheads (pleaaaaaase)
    2) Text warp (huge)
    3) Layer panel improvements: I'd love to have an option to view only layers for the active Artboard... or at least have a better UX to represent Artboards, Layers, Pixel Layers, Groups, etc, right now it's quite confusing managing it since they all look pretty much the same - specially when you have multiple artboards
    4) Colapse / Extend all layers at once (super useful)
    5) Hide artboards - and not just its content
    6) Rotate guide lines
    7) Adding/Overlap multiple effects - apply a multiple layers of shadows on the same effect command
There is much I know... If you guys agree or have any more request I'd love to hear from the community.
    Thanks!

I've very recently been surprised to see in the lists at reviews and articles -even if at the bottom, as is clearly not specialized on that-  about these (and related) tools to consider A. Designer....  I like to have the flexibility that full graphic editors (AD,AP,PS,AI) give. But it seems to me that with contenders (although they have different scopes...) like  Invision Studio (a lot of people say this will be The thing), Figma (free version available, and gaining momentum), Marvel, Sketch (mac only :s ), Framer (being more of a coder/designer, I like Webflow, tho is a different animal ) and the other ton of tools, makes sense that Adobe might try to fight with the free version... IMO is a lost battle (for XD) even so. Seems the team work stuff , simultaneous at real time is highly valued lately, so....

You could also move the intire Artboard to the Assets panel and then export the Assets to the cloud. The whole team can now import the asset and use it in their projects easily...

In my case, I create the document that suits my needs, let's say a Postcard 6x4in, CMYK, 300 DPI with placement text, logo and address in place... When I'm done, I drag the artwork into a new Asset Group in Assets panel... Next time I need it, I simply create a new document and drag it back from the Assets panel into my document.

Another thing I do is save the Assets to the cloud to make it available in my other machines if needed.

Not sure if it helps, but it's my best solution for now since I do repeat same kind of document setting for some specific clients such as business cards, flyers, post cards, posters, etc.

    Hi there,

Wouldnt be nice if we could hide an Artboard? Sometimes I feel I need it in order to focus my attention in a specific artboard I am working on... The way it works now, we can only hide its content, so I guess it should make more sense if we could hide the entire thing instead.

Final thoughts on this for me.

Keyboard shortcuts I still think is the easiest solution and it doesn't really require more icons in the layer panel. I understand and respect the UI designers call for a less is more approach when it comes to adding UI elements or more icons... It could be added but frankly with a shortcut, I'd never use it.

And yes, locking/unlocking currently does work by the lock icon at the top of the panel, I agree, as long as you don't have a ton of elements in your document and you can easily find the element to unlock in the panel. I work with hundreds of layers/sublayers, many element/layers sitting directly on top of another. Sometimes I can't even readily see what I need to unlock... Looking for a locked element/layer in the layer stack to unlock is untenable for me. The current setup requires you to select the layer then the lock icon to unlock it, where a simple "unlock all" would suffice and save foraging through the layers panel or even going to the panel at all for that matter.

To be honest, this along with a hide, unhide all shortcut is one of the more important workflow aspects keeping me from fully adopting a Designer workflow for my illustration work currently.

Hopefully 1.6 will be the magic number. :-)
