How do I do that? I'd also like to make the macro panel narrower since it's much wider than necessary. Is there a way to do that. I appreciate your help.

I finally figured out that I could drag some of the tools off that I don't use, which moved the Pen and Text icons up so they're now visible.

I just updated to version 1.6.5 and now I can no longer see all the tool icons on the left side of the screen (I have the window maximized). Only the very top of the Pen tool is visible, and I can't see the Text tool at all. I haven't been able to find a way to reduce the size of the left column of tool icons so they're all visible. Can anyone help?

One of the features that I use frequently in Serif PhotoPlus X8 is the documents view at the bottom of the screen. It shows thumbnails of the images that are open in the program so that I can easily move back and forth between images and know what I am clicking on.
Affinity Photo has tabs at the top with the names of the images, which is not helpful when they come straight out of my camera and have a number instead of a useful name.
Thanks!
Ditto! Please, please, someone add the thumbnail feature like Serif PhotoPlus X8. I bought Affinity Photo 1.5.2.69 because PhotoPlus was getting so terribly slow, but then I had problems with Affinity crashing, and I found it very frustrating not having thumbnails at the bottom. I tried moving the tabs down to the workspace and resizing each image so I could see a dozen or more photos at once, but it was very time consuming. So I went back to PhotoPlus X8 and used Windows Explorer to drag and drop photos, but I still have to sit and wait patiently each time I save a file. However, as of the latest Windows 10 update, I can't even open PhotoPlus X8 or uninstall to reinstall it. So now I'm forced to use Affinity 1.5.2.69. I like most everything about it, but not having thumbnails automatically open at the bottom of the screen is a major disadvantage to the way I work with photos. Is anyone working on adding that feature?

Thank you R C-R. I totally missed the setting for number of columns. This morning when I was back at my computer with Affinity Photo still open, I noticed the tool icons on the left had shrunk to the size they were before I updated so now there's a couple of inches of empty space at the bottom of the column. I was unable to change the width of the Macro panel, so it must be at the minimum width, which is about 4" on my screen (and I only use about 6 macros), but I can live with that now that the panels on the left and right have shrunk back to the size they were before updating. Thank you again for your speedy responses to my questions.
