    +1 for this

In 2010 I wrote an article for Envato about using Macros to quickly colorize comic strip using Macros with keyboard shortcut in Photoshop
    https://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/quick-tip-colorize-a-comic-strip-with-photoshop--psd-9100
It's unfortunate that this can't be replicate in Affinity, because of the lack of assignable keyboard shortcut to Macros.

Oh yes we definitely a mouse modifier for adjust cropping area from center, symmetrically.
Here how it works in other softwares (Photoshop, but not the only one):

Very handy to handle symmetrical images (also photo for sure)
    Thanks for your consideration!

It should be on by default IMHO (if it is not already) to avoid surprise and searching. Users can still tweak performance on their own if they have problems.

Glad to have found a solution, anyway

For illustrators and those with dozens of levels per document: I think it would be awesome (aka it would save heaps of worktime) if we could search through levels by the name WE gave them.

X-Raym reacted to Kal in slice tool snap to grid?
Okay, I understand now. You didn't mention the slice tool in your first comment, and it sounded like you were talking about snapping guide lines to the grid. I guess we just hit a language barrier.
Yes, you're right, slices don't snap to guides. Earlier in the thread, Meb confirmed that 'slices only snap to the Pixel grid'. I think everyone who has tried the slice tool would agree—you just expect this kind of basic snapping behaviour from such a tool. Affinity, in my experience, is not quick to respond to user feedback. As you can see, this was posted almost 6 years ago, and nothing has changed.

X-Raym reacted to GarryP in Bug: SVG transform property isn't handle right
I think part of the problem may be that the Affinity applications can’t handle the “transform=rotate()” attribute properly, e.g:
    https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/51530-importing-svg-in-designer/&do=findComment&comment=829517
Because of this, in some areas of this design the clipping mask has been moved away from the thing it is clipping.
For example, open the SVG in Designer and look at the each of the layers selected in my screenshot individually – the curve is nowhere near the clipping mask.

    Hello,
I have a situation where I have ~650 layers, all well named that I need to search through quickly to hide/show for different permutations of an image. Is there a way I can either sort the layers alphabetically to find them more easily or search for them.
    Thanks.

@v_kyr This is precisely why scripting API is deeply needed : to let all users solve their own specific issue in an efficient way.
That said, simple search / replace + counter feature is more than a specific user request.

X-Raym reacted to lepr in How to reset scale to 1:1 in Designer?
No, objects do not forget their original size. When a Group is resized, the Group's transformation matrix changes, but each object inside the Group retains its original size and its personal transformation matrix.
The Transform panel could have an additional pair of fields for the width and height scaling factors of a selected object/Layer/Group/Compound/Symbol just like it already has fields for rotation and skew, by which these factors can be reset.

FWIW, according to Affinity Review #1, an Apple Books publication no longer available from Apple, what eventually became the Affinity range began life as a research project to study the feasibility of creating a memory management system efficient enough that it could support "high-end photo editing" without using much memory. Initial development work was done on an iPad with a paltry 80MB of app memory to work with.

    Hi everyone !
So far I used Affinity Designer just on small individual taks or illustration, but I recently had to use it extensively to make an educational video with a friend of mine. This requires to do around 50 different illustrations,  mostly custom creations with few assets from Freepik here and there. I had to learn both flat design characters drawing and Affitnity Designer Photo.
As a global feedback for Affinity Designer, I want to say that it was a very pleasing software to use (nice UI, no lags, no crash), and I'm glad it has this very nice business model.
The video is in French, but here the result :

During the elaboration of this work, I find several limitations we could have make it easier. I opended and bumped various other forum threads, but here is a reacap of things I would really love to have for the next series of illustration I would have to make :

This one is a must have for me. Almost all my illustrations have some kind of symetry involved. This will really help

This will really help making some variations for a duplicated objets. Would be very nice !

This would help making some automation.

This would be the Graal and ultimately could solve other issue, like layer name processing etc. It would be very appreciated !

If I had to choose only one, the first I mentioned would be really helpful. Please bump the thread if you agree, hoping it will interest Affinity Designer devs

Thx for your attention, Cheers !
