The title pretty much says it all. Serif has been acquired by Cava:
    https://www.canva.com/newsroom/news/affinity/
Now I wonder mainly about two things:
    1. Will the Affinity suite give up on its one-time purchase philosophy (given that Canva is a subscription service)?
    2. Will we see integration of Canva services in the Affinity applications and if so, will users be able to hide it in case they don't need them?
I know that it might be a little early for definitive answers, but since we only have the Canva press release so far and no official statement from Serif yet, I was hoping that staff might be able to comment on this.

The only question is whether Affinity will offer a subscription in the future? I have bought a lot of brushes for your software. Especially on the Ipad, I am not willing to pay any subscription fees. I have purchased your software twice (v1. & v2). You say there are no plans for subscriptions at this time. But just wait until the Canva bosses change their minds, because greed is a virus in upper management. RIP, Adobe Alternative.

    Hi positivitylondon,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums

As far as I know, the artboard tool is available on Affinity Designer, not on Affinity Photo.
Although you can move and manage existing artboards on Photo if you open a Designer document on it. But the creation tool is only available on Designer IIRC.

Qri reacted to GarryP in Affinity Photo V.1 - How to fix lining/space lining issues?
The first thing to try is to switch Auto-hyphenation ON – Paragraph Panel, Hyphenation section (or in Edit Style) – and see what happens.
If that doesn’t give good enough results then we would need to see what it looks like and what parts of the resultant text you don’t like.
Note: There are some existing problems with auto-hyphenation in certain languages. You can check the forums for more information about that.

    Hi @Qri,
Can you try a basic reset of Affinity.  To do this, start Affinity while holding down the Control key and you get shown a screen with a number of tick boxes on and 3 will be ticked.  You can just click on Clear and Affinity will then start as normal.  Now try your normal workflow and let me know the results

Here are some reusable common numbering items as assets to share. I often use such numberings for screenshots & documentation purposes etc., in order to show specific usability flows or step for step procedures and the like.

The dragged over numbering assets are groups, which do contain a numering text and a background shape. They can be easily manipulated to custom needs, like for example changing the text and shape colors, applying
some stroke colors, or FX shadows and the like. You can even change the number text & shape type on demand. When dragging one such numbering assets over into your document and manipulating it the way you like (or need),
the easiest way to assign the made changes then over to another numbering assets is via a Copy and then a Paste Style
or Paste FX, dependent on what portion of a numbering group was changed.
You may freely use/reuse these numbering assets for whatever work you've to do. - Have fun!

I can't find any easy way how to *really* crop the whole document.
The crop just changes the size of the canvas but it keeps the bigger layers intact. That's usually fine but my documents tend to become rather messy so I often want to get rid of all leftovers beyond the edges of the canvas. As far as I know I have to use Layer - Rasterize & Trim on each layer and that's rather tedious.
It would be really nice if you could add a new option "Trim" directly to Crop.
