Is there a piece of software which works like lightroom and all your photos are stored, indexed and edited in one big database which is searchable. Maybe I have just missed it in Affinity 2? Regards Princy

HI, I want to create an outline of people How do I do this? I have an old sepia photo, I would like to scan it into the computer and then get the edge outline of each person so that I can type the names of the person. I found the 'detect edges', but I ended up with a very dark page and hard to view the edges. Can anyone point me in the correct direction on how it's done, please?

Hi Thomaso Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've just done something similar to what you suggested. I found that I had to do three corrections (improvements) Haha One missing person, (photographer), another with their eyes closed and yawning haha again. I did take selection brush and capture each piece as required. I then made a mask where I wanted the change to go and put the copied part in. Did it for all three parts and it came out quite well . I'll have another go at it shortly to smooth out the tinyest misalignment. And of course to fix it into my old head. Just hoping I've use the correct temenology above. While typing, I've actually noticed someone two inches shorter than me has , in the photo, grown by two inches above me. so another thing to fix in the second attempt. I'm fine with cutting out, refining and copying or saving a person from a photo. My problem is I need to put an person in the middle of a group of people. I've unsuccesfully looked for the turorial that used to be available years ago. Can anyone please point me to the tutorial or give me an answer. Regards

Well do we have any news on the Scaling of drawings yet? We are considerably further down the line with enhancements, with the exception of rather an important one for people who DRAW. Please any update on this Regards

Thanks Alfred, SOrry but I'm going to have to ask another question. I think when my system became corrupted and died on me so did my own brain. I've converted all the graphics I want into svg as suggested. How do I get them in as assets as a group call 'computer symbols'? I can't find any way to do it! It want's me to put them into swatches not assets. TIA if you have the time. Regards Princy.

Hi Alfred, DanC, Thanks for the replies. OK looked into the kits, none of them had anything to do with computers or networks. But appreciated because I'd actually forgotten about them. Dan, after Getting my better half to dig into some old boxes in the attic, DrawPlus has been found. I have no idea if how to export all the computer icon's etc to be used in the Affinity.. Hi Alfred, Thanks for the reply. Now that's a thought that had not occurred. . Which makes me even more stuck, all my master softwares went with the crash. Do you have any idea if it would be worth asking here to see in anyone did what you said and exported them. Yep what the heck. Did anyone export the computer symbols from DrawPlus? I still have a huge box of DVD's to go through, I may still have drawplus. But will take some finding. Are there any free affinity sources of assets etc. Nice to see you are still around by the way. Hi Sob storey first. Couple of months ago I have a crash, could not get much back from my system. All the backups would not restore. Spent a week working on getting it all back up and rebuilt to find it happened again. Cutting it short. I had installed a new sound card into the system and it was this that was causing the crashes. Once removed all back up and running for last 7 weeks. I have at last caught up and want to use my Affinity Designer. Only to find that all my resources have vanished. I have a particular need for the Network symbols and Layout ones . Honestly I have no idea where they came from whether they were internal to affinity or a freebie. Can anyone assist me with this please, where are they, are they affinity, if free where were they from. Any help greatly received. Only assets I seem to have are 'IOS 12'. pretty sure I had quite a range before the crash.

Hi, When I installed Publisher 1.7xxx I also had to also update the Photo and the Designer. During this process I noticed that some of the photo's that were displayed on my screen as snapshots have actually channged to only disply the Affinity Photo logo. The photos were .jpg and .png. How do I get the pictures back to showing as pictures again? It's only now I have got around to asking.

HI Walt, Craig Thanks to both for input. OK Walt. As my book is somewhat personal I can not actually send anything to the group. However it has forced me into starting a new book to test the spelling. My problem book has a problem with many words, it will not function with virtually any of the spelling tasks you give it. This book is an import from another piece of software and was carried over in rtf format. NOw the test book. I just added a single text frame and typed a few para's then randomly included some of the underlined text from the faulty book. Guess what, spell checking is working perfectly. However if I go back to the faulty book with the reds in, the underlines are still there and it wants me to unlearn. unlearn the reds are still there. So my problem solved but not why it did it in the first place..... I'll try a few others in the next few days as different transfer files like pdf etc. Craig, thanks for the information and methods. That's tomorrows job. My Welsh is no longer usable, but I still use a lot of Welsh words in some of the things I write for my homeland. Hi I have just restarted a book I was working on. Publisher happily underlines in red, it happily changes incorrect words. But I'm having a problem with 'learn spelling'. Example "hoody" is underlined in red. I press the 'learn spelling' and it stays underlined. Has it learned it or not? Is this an error or have I missed something. Additional Spelling questions how do I edit the dictionay. Can I use two languages English and Welsh
