I am left wondering if the same people who are criticizing Publisher for no InDesign import/export and Quark import/export will also be on the Adobe and Quark forums criticizing them for no Publisher import/export? For me, this suite of products is the first real alternative to the Creative Cloud solution and at a fraction of the price, I will find ways of working around any shortcomings that may present themselves.
I've seen a lot of very negative comments in these forums, which IMHO are a tad unwarranted. It is an early BETA after all.
My congrats to the Affinity team on what promises to be a great alternative for professional designers and web developers.

I've been working on this for a few months and is the most complicated drawing I've done so far. I had thought about doing it before but knew it would be a ton of work, in reality it was about 10 tons, seemed never ending.
 
I decided to just do the front half to better show off the engine but I could re-use much of it if I ever wanted to do the whole car. As before it's just the pen tool, gradients, blurs and blend modes, so anyone could do it.

I was searching for something unrelated and came across some 3d mandalas which looked fun, different from the usual flat coloured ones. The person had used pens so I added quite a bit of grain to make it looks more pencil like. I didn't plan it out (should have done) but it's a nice little project for an evening or so.

Another couple of my bike illustrations, this time a couple of classic racers that I enjoyed watching on the Isle of Man in the sixties.
Still using a bit too much gausian blur in my illustrations but I like the softer effect it gives.

An experiment using dispersion and distortion effects.
