I drag nodes by putting the mouse arrow over the node (at the corner of a rectangle, for example), holding the left button down and moving the mouse. I expect the node to move with the mouse cursor until I release the left button. But the node stops moving before I release the button. I expect I could spend the day investigating this but time flies. Are there settings that would improve performance of drag-and-drop procedures like this? Is the problem unique to me, or have others had similar experiences? All I can do at the moment is report that the problem occurs. If it is unique to me, I would rather this matter were closed as I do not have time to pursue it.

Possibly, but I am not convinced that it is necessary. It will only show what I have described.

When I try to drag nodes of a rectangle the mouse keeps letting go. How can I prevent this? This is version 1.10.6.1665 on Windows 10. Dragging generally works OK so it is not my hardware.

Many thanks. I cannot find "Protect Alpha" anywhere, whatever that means, but when I pressed Ctrl+D the pixel tool began to work.
My next question is how to select a purely white colour.
Is there a manual that caters for really basic stuff like this?

Thanks. However, I cannot make the pixel tool draw or select pixels. I cannot make it do anything. Same with paint brush.
I see tutorials but they do not show which keys or buttons the person is pressing.

I have a small PNG file. I am trying to find a way to change the colour of individual pixels or selections of pixels. Can Affinity Designer do this? I have found a "pixel tool" but it does not seem to do anything. I can move a marquee from pixel to pixel but that is all.

Thanks - I seem to have got it to work, with line mode on pen tool, holding <shift> down to constrain the line
to be horizontal or 45-degree angles from this. I think choosing line mode is what I was not doing previously.

Thanks for your very prompt reply, but pressing the escape key causes the first line to disappear.
The pencil tool gives a freehand line but I am trying to draw a straight level line. Having essential tremor I cannot do this freehand.

If I draw a line with the pen tool, and then start to draw another line, a curved line appears joining the end of the first line and the beginning of the second line. How do I prevent this?

I have restarted the computer and tried again. I have also clicked on an "unblock" button I found in the Properties dialog. I have tried running the .exe file again. Something begins to happen because I see changes to which Windows Explorer window is selected, but that is all. I am running 32-bit Windows Home Premium SP1, not 64-bit.

I have bought Affinity Designer and downloaded the .exe file. I have the product key. When I double-click on the .exe file, I see "Open file - Security Warning", "Do you want to run this file?" with a box to click on, "Run". So far, so good. I click on "Run" and the Windows blue whirlygig appears for a moment, and that's all. Why won't anything else happen? I am running Windows 7 Home Premium.

I don't know if there is still a forum for WebPlus x^ users so I apologise if this is in the wrong place. I have a website prepared with WebPlus X6 which has a navigation bar. I would like to change the text (legends) on some of its buttons but I cannot find out how. I would be grateful for advice.

Drag lets go

It is up to you whether you investigate the matter. I was just reporting it. I withdraw my question how to prevent the letting-go. I should not have asked. Sorry.
