thank you for your reply! I open affinity click file and open browse through my "photos" folder for the nef file to open and it opens as jpeg. Im trying your way now. 

[open RAW image as RAW?]

I open a new image (NEF) file and it opens in Affinity as Jpeg. I want to open and edit a RAW file of course. my color space is srgb and i shoot in only RAW having NEF files. Does anybody know how i can edit NEF files? I would greatly appreciate help! im new to this software and like it otherwise.

im having the same issue i think. I select the RAW file but it loads into affinity as a jpeg. when i adjust the highlights or even any color such as flames, it is flat and gross looking. i need to be able to work with the raw file i import not a jpeg copy. please help?
