  1. Hi and Welcome to the Affinity Forums! 1. It doesn't show pixels, it shows points. Disable this option: Edit > Preferences > User Interface > Show Lines in points Then the selected units will be displayed. Units.mp4
  2. With the Point Transform Tool, in Affinity Designer, you can resize a particular part of the image to the size you want. Using the Point Transform Tool, in some cases can be more convenient and visual, than just resizing. https://affinity.help/designer/English.lproj/pages/Tools/tools_pointTransform.html In the example below, the Vector Crop Tool is also used to temporarily crop the image, for easier manipulation. The Vector Crop Tool simply puts your layer into a rectangle, it doesn't change your original image. Rescale2.mp4 A simpler method, but not in all cases. Rescale3.mp4

  4. Is your goal vector or raster? For the raster, you can use Erase blending mode. And for a vector, you can use Boolean.
  5. Does this happen with any file or a specific file? What is your RAM Usage Limit, have you tried increasing it?
  6. I think to create book covers, you need Affinity Photo, which has different filters to create artistic graphic design and effects.
  7. Hi, Welcome to the Affinity Forums! I think you need two programs Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer to do this. But you can start with Affinity Photo.
  8. Both are necessary, but the second is only possible manually. Duplication.afdesign The Alignment Tool does not help. Alignment_Tool.mp4
  9. 1. Create a document 2. Create a blank pixel layer 3. Layer > New Pattern Layer From Selection You have a Pattern Layer created from an empty pixel layer, try to paint on it with a brush. This will cause the program to crash. This has been happening since the first version in which Pattern Layer appeared, at least on Windows. Everything works fine if you create a Pattern Layer from a rasterized rectangle filled with color, or any pixel layer that has pixels. I assume that the failure occurs because the Pattern Layer created from an empty pixel layer has an infinite size 🙂 While the Pattern Layer created from the pixel layer has a certain size. P. S. If you create a Pattern Layer from a rasterized, color-filled rectangle, and then select all and delete, you will get a transparent Pattern Layer, with a certain size, and it will not cause a crash. Thus, it becomes clear that the crash causes an infinite size of the Pattern Layer, not by the presence of transparency.
  10. Thanks for the idea! It works! Why don't you use a regular mask for Alpha? (grayscale layer > rasterise to mask)

  12. Three basic things you'll need: 1. Perspective Live Filter 2. Searching for the desired blending mode (for the top layer) 3. Displace Live Filter Book_Cover.mp4
  13. Channel packing is needed to create an ORM texture. Or to store 3 different masks in one texture. Target: get one file, with 3 or 4 grayscale textures inside.
  14. Look in File > Preferences > Colour Perhaps the answer is there.
