Have you downloaded and installed the latest version of Photo? I had the same problem but was using the latest Photo beta. Installed the latest non-beta release and it worked fine.

i had the same thing happen. i just opened and closed Photo and then went to Publisher and the links worked.

Hi Wodwoud88,
Welcome to the forums.
You can use File > Place, to select and insert another image into an existing project and it will be on a separate layer.

Affinity only comes as a download so you would just need to download it on the new computer. There is no need to buy it again!
