SalfingerAndrew got a reaction from Chris B in Project save over written via crash
I had a another version of this bug happen (kinda) but with out the app crashing. I was moving between to projects (the main document and a asset document) when moving between these two documents it caused the “Main document“ to:
No longer open No longer have the document size information or colour value displayed to the right No longer have the save open within the menu Can not be dragged out of Affinity to the files app (along with an error “Cannot load representation type com.seriflabs.affinity-photo.documand” Document size 2560x1440px, file size 111.3MB

    Hello everyone,
Back with another illustration. Similar to “Light houses” this one is also a mixture of vector illustration with photography. The main vector objects (the monsters/creatures) where made in Affinity Designer then moved into Affinity Photo where I started with the background, removing all the people, followed by removing any text on the signs and labels around the train and replace it with my own text (a bit over kill since there kinda small to read and most people will never see it but was still fun to do) followed by placing the vector objects in, colour correcting the scene and adding shadows and other textuers such as dust and lens scratches.
Overall the project was fun to mess around with and I’m happy with how it came out.
Made with Affintiy Photo + Affinity Designer and made on the iPad Pro.

Oh I see, it all depends on workflows and yes if you don’t use iCloud then I guess it would be a bad option. Tho in the settings you can change the default save location but I think it’s limited to either on the iPad (local storage) or iCloud Drive. (But we are getting off track from the original post about a bug and talking more about backing up / saving the work it self. Tho thanks for the information on the matter and did not know affinity had a “save as copy” so this will be helpful none the less.

Amazing job I love the textual effects to the letters. Love the middle version tho some of the letters go get a little lost tho its adds to the abstract theme of the design.

Hey everyone. I hope you all are well!! Been working on some illustrations and wanted to share one with you all.
I've been message around with arts styles and started to play around with mixing raster and vector together and came up with this. Where I take vector shapes and apply raster effects such as brush effects and textures to it.
Made with Affinity Designer + Affinity Photo on the iPad Pro. (With brushes from https://frankentoonstudio.com)
    What do you all think?

I’m intentionally seeking to learn from some of my favorite artists by attempting to emulate aspects of their styles. This particular exercise in admiration is based on the flowing ribbons and gradients of @serdarduran’s work.
Created solely on Affinity Designer for iPad with Apple Pencil (including the sketch, which is a first for me).

Not here for a critique as these are done and in the process of publication. Rather, it's an announcement of triumph in that this is the first large scale piece (100 pages) I created entirely in Publisher, with assists from Designer and a big BIG shout out to Photo. I've been Art Directing/designing this magazine for over 3 years and this is the first "Adobe free" issue and going forward, that will be the order of the day. I never wanted to and never did buy into the Creative Cloud (well, you don't buy, you just rent for the rest of your life).
There's still a few features that I'm sure will be added as Publisher grows but there's nothing that couldn't be worked around with ease (span columns - this is covered in other parts of the forum).
In dealing with the printer, the only glitch was the cover file. In the end I think it was the printer's automated system and I'm awaiting the technician's report as to why the cover was rejected (multiple times as I tried various solutions). While the system initially rejected each upload of the Cover file page, the printer was able to override the system, open the file, check the metadata, and insert the file into the system. I'll follow up once I receive the report.
Thank you so much Affinity for all three programs. What a relief to reach the end of the project and it worked beyond expectations. The "proof in the pudding" was the final export of the PDF files without any problems, minus the unknown of the Cover. I'd like to point out that the cover successfully exported from Publisher each time. Whatever is lurking in the file wasn't anything so significant that the printer couldn't overcome. I also want to point out that this is the first time they received a job created in Affinity Publisher.

Hi, here’s an experimental idea made after learning something from one of the lockdown creative sessions. I’ve been using AD for quite a while now, and still have a ton to learn, but I can’t believe I missed the adjustment option on the layers panel.
I do totally get the ‘stay safe’ message, but on another level it seems quite an abstract command, which possibly accounts for the progression of this graphic!

It's really nice, but why is the top half of the lighthouse blured? If there's mist, perhaps it should be lighter to show the mist, if it's because of distance, all the lighthouse should be blured the same, and the house too.

Try Exporting an EPS file. This file type is universal. Tiff formats also have layers as well as PDFs can house layer information. The PSD save might be flattening your work. Also, Photoshop is a Raster program. So no vector data will transfer.

    Hi Yoko,
    Welcome to the forums
The affinity apps don't currently support exporting text to .PSD I recommend trying an EPS or PDF file as Massive.art suggested.
    Thanks
