Too bad that after so much time this issue still is not fixed.

I'm mostly a "ink" illustrator, working with black lines all the time. I don't need color picker to show most of the time... and it happens ALL THE TIME, color switches from black to white (my bg) or wide grey spectrum when my palm lays on sketch underneath.

I bought an app that is not usable at this point. Frustrating to say the least.

Please let us disable the color picker gesture!

I'm a new user. I'm trying to use Affiniti Photo for ipad on iPad Pro 10.5".  I'm just using it as a sketching tool for the moment.
I am struggling to prevent my Apple pencil switching into the color picker mode with the magnifying glass as I'm drawing (happens on every 4th stroke or so, making the app unusable for me until I sort this out).
I think the problem in palm rejection (I have enabled "touch for gestures only").
As a right handed user, even when I have cleared the screen so that only the context tool is showing the heel of my hand is pressed against that tool. So how do I disable the color picker feature, or can the context tool be moved to the top of the screen when its the only tool displayed so that it is out of the way of my hand

Bump, same as other people have mentioned, very frequently I end up activating color picker by accident, please add an option to disable this.

Logged in to find out how to disable or slow down color picker. Bummer. It’s irritating the way it is. You have to be slow and precise for fine detail which is impossible now. Please provide us with an option to disable or alter this feature.
    Thank you.

It might be useful to have a way to apply a gradient on a curved path, and even a custom path, instead of just a straight line/other preset option.

    Hi!

Apologies if this has already been requested or discussed.

I'd love to see Designer allow you to define a curve or path and then have a gradient applied to it, so that the gradient matches the curve from start to finish.

    Thanks!

    Hello, Serif people.

I would like there to be the option of converting missing fonts into curves at the time of opening a file, such as PDF.

PDF readers can display perfectly on the screen and print documents whose fonts are missing on the machine you view.

PDF readers can do this because the font is embedded in the file. So, I think Affinity (Photo and Designer) could do the same process that these pdf readers do.

Lately, I've been using PDF reader "PDF-X CHANGE EDITOR" So I print to PDF with the option of converting fonts into curves. However, the result is poorly rendered text.

    Please Serif people. Help Us!

m.wieckowska got a reaction from jfroehlich in Merging single curve
    Hello Affinity team!

I've had some problems with merging curves layers and in the result I asked this wonderful community for help.
At first I thought I must be missing some tools and someone here will guide me to the light, but seems like it's the software that misses pretty important tool.

Please, get familiar with the thread I started:
    https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/46069-designer-simplifying-closing-single-curve/&
    Issues:
    - dividing curves when hitting "Add"
    - no easy solution to merging curve that overlaps itself
    2 ideas emerged:
    - breaking curves in innocuous places and then hitting add,
    - creating rectangles in divided areas and then removing some of the nodes.
It's something and working for now, but it's pretty time consuming, and for someone facing deadlines on the daily basis can be a deal breaker.

    Suggestion:
    - getting "Add" tool to merge singe curve that overlaps itself,
    - or creating another tool that will do so.

Yea, me neither, I guess we all learn as we go
After all I'm just a simple designer, so this all taxes and legal stuff thing gives me a headache
The true question now is who in Serif is authorised to correct payments and invoices, so I can get everything straight and make my accountant happy.

    Dear Patrick

There is a fundamental situation here.

You should NOT be paying the VAT to the government on non-UK orders.

You should charge it at ZERO VAT and I pay the net amount. Simple. I have copied the VAT rules to your sales dept.

The 20% discount is a red herring. I am still paying you the same amount as you are getting on UK orders except on those you are paying £5 to HMRC.

You DO NOT HAVE TO PAY IT ON NON-UK ORDERS.

Therefore you should only charge me £24.99 and you receive all of it, instead of charging £29.99 and paying £5 in tax - net result £24.99.

I am not in the UK and do not pay tax to the UK.

    Kindest regards

    C R Goss

    Hi m.wieckowska,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Have you created these icons from scratch in Designer or did you started importing a file with some elements already? If you have imported a file can you please upload the original file using this link so i can take a look? Thanks.

Not sure if it's ok to post it, but MEB provided a gif file with the process.

    Take a look:
