I had the same issue. Updated to Affinity 2.1 and the plugins no longer worked within Affinity, the opened as standalone application with only the option to 'Save As Preset;. I did not think of rolling back Affinity to 2.0. Instead going the rollback Nik route. I had skipped Nik 5, and that does work with 2.1. So, I asked DXO to send me Nik 5 instead. Which they did. They did not send me a licence though so still waiting for that.

@Volker Krenz / @MEB I updated to Nik 6. It all worked fine until the Affinity 2.1 Update. Now a bunch of the Nik Plugins open as a standalone app instead of being a plugin within Affinity. Good - HDR Efex Good - Sharpener Output Good - Sharpener RAW Fails - Viveza Fails - Silver Efex Fails - Colour Efex Fails - Analog Efex Fails - Define I uninstalled and re-installed Nik 6. Same issues.

No, it will not. See my recent post. I just upgraded. Perspective is not an option. The bugs I had with Silver FX and Viveza not opening in Affinity (opening as a stand alone software) are gone. Everything seems to work fine. I agree with you on the upgrades. There does not seem to be much in the way of mind blowing changes. Feels like an extension of the upgrades they usually do. Actually, they have brought back the sliders under the control points thankfully. So, arguably, they have gone backwards! I do love using Nik though. It is very well done.

[ RESOLVED - Rather than open the Plugins through Photo. I went into one of the Nik apps in the main Nik Software apps folder in Finder. I opened one of the apps through there, entered the activation code, and this seems to have activated all of the Nik Apps. I closed and relaunched Affinity Photo and now the plugins work without asking for an Activation code] Hope that helps someone. Help! I have previously installed Nik Collection 4 before on my 2015 MacBook Pro. All good. Activation code worked well. I just downloaded Nik 4 again and installed it on my new M1 MacBook Pro. The installation seems fine. Same kind of deal as before but I also did the Photo set up to load as 'Open using Rosetta' as mentioned above in this thread. I also cleared prefs. The issue is I can not get most plugins to run. Viveza and Silver seemingly run without the activation code. The rest ... Color, HDR, Sharp 1+2, Analog and Define are throwing an error message when I try and enter my code. When I am trying to fill in my activation codes. It is telling me to ",, Please verify your internet connection, or your activation code, and try again (64). My internet connection is fine and I have tried both copying and pasting the code and also manually entering the code a bunch of times. And double checked it under the My Software section on my Nik account page on their website. Any ideas?

I am getting blocks / squares over my images (white and black) when doing a batch process. I am only resizing the images to 1500 pixels wide. No other unusual parameter changes. Saving to a different folder. I initially tried with around 30, then tried with 10 just to make sure it was not too large a number. I have not had the issue previously. Any ideas? Image is a screen grab of the previews in Finder. They are the same when opened properly.

@MarvinR - thanks for the input. I jumped on board and just installed it. Worth noting that some of the Affinity install info is further down the page. I missed that at first. Also, their version of events seemed slightly different to mine with regards the Support File links. But, whatever, all seems fine. I did it twice, by the book, and ended up slightly off piste the second time to get it to work. I think a lot of people's issues come when they can't do something they did before. I often find that embracing the new and letting go of some of the old often ends up in a better experience. Thanks again.

How has this been working for you? Did you have to delete Nik 3 first? Or did it just override? Did it maintain any preferences or settings? What are your thought on the upgrade/ Thanks in advance, James

Just a thought but could you .... Adjust the image to the point where it suits what you want. Make a note of each adjustment Reset the adjustments. Record a Macro, making the adjustments you previously noted. Use that Macro in future to recreate those adjustments. I just tried it, it seemed to work and also gives the ability to keep those adjustment live. I am surprised there is no ability to Export the adjustments as a preset. Or even Export grouped Adjustments. Any idea why?

That is annoying, as is the fact that I purchased about 60 days before the new one came out. The upgrade discount only applied for 30 days and was not really an upograde for us anyway. One more annoying thing is the pop up that constantly asks me to upgrade. I spoke to DxO about that and they gavce me some code to add to the library file, editable in Text Edit. I am not sure of this now means I will not get update notices for my existing version. __________________ Riley (Support & Assistance) Jul 15, 2020, 11:46 PM GMT+2 Hello JAMES, To disable the upgrade pop-up, please open the following file using TextEdit: /Library/Preferences/DxO/Nik Collection/NikCollection.cfg and look for: </group> <group name=“Checkforupdate”> any information here </group> if this line is found: <key name=“IsEnabled” type=“bool” value=“1"/> change it to: <key name=“IsEnabled” type=“bool” value=“0"/> if this line is not found, please change this section to: </group> <group name=“Checkforupdate”> <key name=“IsEnabled” type=“bool” value=“0"/> </group> Please only replace the text exactly and do not omit any blank lines already in the file, specifically the one after the second </group>.
