A rotation tool or extended function is not on the roadmap but is a basic feature that is needed for objects like nodes. :(

Adobe hides the secrets. PSD and illustrator import does not function 100%. Will that work with InDesign files? Perhaps with a PlugIn.

Not next year: "Expected to be in beta by the end of 2016 and launch later in 2017” And those expectations are no promises. In July the launch was in 2015. Even AD still has not all basic features (after years). For example, Canvas Draw 2 for Mac has and perhaps more than Publisher will have. We can hope Serif is quicker than they expect.

Indeed, jackamus. The “Guides” are without a concept, … Serif did not ask professionals what they need. Guides can only be horizontally or vertically lines that cannot be locked?! :(

@ acapstick We think, most of the testers already knew this, but why do we have a half “Status Bar” in the German Visual Reference and none in the english version? Would be a great advantage not only for beginners, if the interactive Visual Reference would be much more detailed (including some Expressions informations), perhaps integrated in the app / as a link on the Welcome Screen. Perhaps as an animation.

Have you been asked before what is needed in Affinity Publisher? Will it happen again that important features are still missing one year after the release?

This is much to easy for Serif. ;) Please, we like to see an implementation of all 17 plane symmetry groups. Not only the the trade press would celebrate that feature!

Hi BKantique, since many months :( a “Convert Pixel selection to Vector shape” is announced on the Affinity Designer feature roadmap. Details are not explained :(, but perhaps it will be a little help in future. :)

Will it be possible in future to (power) duplicate (and copy/paste) slices [in AD]?

Hallo Udo, Serif hat die versteckte, aber überaus wichtige und umfangreiche Funktionalität des Transformieren-Panels niemals in der deutschsprachigen Hilfe kommuniziert. Dem Link fehlt die Datei. Eigentlich unglaublich für eine professionelle Grafik-Software. Viele Erst-User suchen ein Transformieren-Tool, finden es nicht und kaufen die nächste Grafik-Software, die ein entsprechendes Tool oder vollständige Dokumentation bietet. Wenn Du kurz das OS auf Englisch wechselst, kannst Du Dir den Funktionsumfang / dieSyntax der »Expressions for field Input« in der engl. Hilfe ansehen. Ich hatte hier einen Referenz-Screen als Überblick für Beginner angeregt. Wäre nett, wenn Du dies unterstützen könntest. Leider wird auch in der Einführung und in der Info zum Transformieren-Panel auf die wichtigen Feldeingabemöglichkeiten nicht hingewiesen.

Thanks, Andy. Did you explain why German speaking beginners DO NOT GET ANY HELP TEXT using the link "Ausdrücke für die Feldeingabe” FOR MORE THAN A YEAR? They click and get nothing. Even no error message. They even do not know that special expressions can be used in the fields, because this is not explained (not in the UI, not in the introduction of the help or in an overview – crazy: even not in the topics “Transform panel” and “Transforming objects“). It would be easy to just copy the english file with some added explanations (still in progress) into the German help folder. A reference screen (with some links) would be the best marketing/solution to present that really very important feature. E. g. first users search a transformation tool they know from competitive software and cannot find the solution represented by the fields. Please change that very soon to not lose purchasers who think an important tool is missing. AD is positioned as a professional app. Please don’t use the wrong quotation marks [e.g. “english help” and «german and swiss text» are correct]. “Farbverteilungen” is not the proper translation for “Colour Chords”. Is a user guide planned? PS: Matt did not describe what is mentioned with "Live preview of compound object boolean mode”. If “layer” would be added, all beginners would know what is meant/where they could find the feature.

Matt, we agree fully. Sorry for discussing this here. The “problem“ we have with the gradient tool is that snapping (of the stops) is not working right from the start and if one stop was already activated or if we want to snap an added stop, it does not snap.

Just one example: One problem is, that complete compatibility is still communicated. It is not corrected: Purchasers will be not happy if they have read this and do not get it.
