This is not really needed because it is already on the feature roadmap. Most of us would like to have this basic feature but we don’t believe that this request will accelerate the implementation. People who want to cut through paths work with other tools (there are workarounds) or apps.

Well, this is not really needed. Click on your line (with the node tool) where you want to cut it and break it. (The knife tool is already/still on the feature roadmap.)

Die Dateien zeigen: Zehn Jahre Programm- und Google-Erfahrungen genügen nicht, um ein grafisch und orthografisch fehlerloses Endergebnis zu erzielen. Diese Erkenntnis freut die Profis und hilft hoffentlich, Projekte von einer neuen Sichtweise zu betrachten. Fehler sind allerdings trotz Hinweisen geblieben.

Doesn’t matter how you call it. They all (em, x, text height, …) depend on a chosen font. So again, why do you ask? Do you want to write the concept and code?

Welcome here and the Affinity universe. :) You can change the shortcuts, decimal places for unit types, the language, the font UI size, the UI gamma, … (have a look into the prefs). And you can customize the toolbar and the tools, use separated mode, … (have a look into Affinity Designer Help).

Great to read that you are happy with AD. Search here for what you need: Some users have created an eBook (and PDF). And: Serif is working on a manual. In defense of all users: Serif is great in hiding great features … like easter eggs

This is the reason why a minus and a plus could be shown. Or only a plus because this is the function that is mostly used by professional users. Does it make sense? Seems not.
