  1. I don’t know why, but Callum wrote something very different, … perhaps he he wanted to write “The Windows licence can't be used on Mac OS …”.
  2. Oui, possible, DvisionG! There are many options: Have in mind that Affinity Designer not only has vectorial capabilities and that SVG, EPS and PDF are not only for vectors … It is possible to run Windows apps (like AD) on Macs. Perhaps it is legal to use one license if you uninstall AD first (on the WIN PC) and reinstall it on a Mac.
  3. Because some are waiting tooooooooo long for a “change origin point” feature, we made a super intelligent ruler for mm, cm, inches, dtp-Cicero, … that you can change very easily for your own needs just in one second.
  4. intelligent_rulers_upd2.afdesign Because some are waiting tooooooooo long for better rulers including a “change origin point” feature, we made a flexible ruler for dm, Berthold points, Pica points, Didot points, DTP Cicero and other units that you can change easily for your own needs just in seconds. Even if you need furlong, light-nanoseconds, Fournier point … no problem. Now you can have many rulers with different units at the same time. And they even can measure curves. Some backgrounds can be found somewhere. Have fun and help to improve Affinity apps. The old ones: intelligent_rulers.afdesign intelligent_rulers_upd.afdesign
  5. Crazy, never thought that somebody would really start that. Probably Serif will add inches, points, nm etc. soon because they promised the needed feature a few seconds ago. ;) Until this will happen in some years try this. ;)
  6. Sure that his father needs to buy Windows? Perhaps it would be cheaper than to buy many other apps again.
  7. Hm, “sperated”? Sorry, we are no clairvoyants, but did you delete blank lines as suggested before? Probably you did not, so please try to align without blank lines. HTH
  8. Use this, wait for Publisher, ask Fixx for his formula, … … in other apps it is already just one click.
  9. Merci, reglico. The question was especially for Fixx and your result is not correct:
  10. In Affinity apps. If you want, only in the MAS versions.
  11. Really easy in other apps, but in Affinity: How is the formula for this case (first and last text line should not change their positions), please?
  12. Please add the option “optically” for arranging/aligning objects and texts optically. Not the easiest thing to add, but optical alignment of objects would be probably unique.
  13. Welcome here, Abel Xin. With Affinity Publisher, we’ll get this option. Use separate text objects or use “Align Vertically” after you converted your single text object to curves (, ungrouped that) and grouped the lines (if you don’t need to change the text).
  14. They wanted Macs, an award and earn money … Fact is that they never announced that “research project“ as something to purchase but the third app of the suite (no iOS app): “Create precise layouts and a versatile range of professional publications with Affinity Publisher, even evolve designs that originated in Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo. Accurate typography, artwork, placement and colour will shine out from every layout, every page, every magazine, book, and digital publication, every logo and brochure. Due in 2015, this publishing thoroughbred will share the precision, speed, quality, and designer-led finesse found in other Affinity titles.” “After completing the full suite on the Mac […] we will look into other platforms.” in 2016 “launch in 2017” from 2015 until February 2017: “Publisher coming soon“ Serif suddenly announced that iOS apps will be launched (“Photo and Designer for iPad […] coming in 2017”) before Affinity Publisher … without a conciliatory statement to the purchasers and bug reporters that wait for the needed and announced third part.
  15. Please, is there hope, an answer for retrograde after one month and what is exactly meant by “soon”?
  16. Ignoring that it was about communication errors, is not as good idea. To correct that wrong future Affinity Photo for Windows launch and wrong translations would take only seconds, for example and would result in more credibility.
  17. Seems you did not understood the context (people used strong words or lost hopes) and we did not start discussing other apps here. You could have criticized people for asking and answering here long before. That was already written. For example Serif should correct reported errors, not ignore them. Be quicker in communication than the questions of (possible) clients. A better quality management. That would result in a better image.
  18. We have not criticized the word “hopefully“. Some people were really surprised by the renewed delay. Serif generated hopes for 2017; but only because one person had the courage to ask, they had to destroy them. The iPad apps that are announced for 2017 probably retard APu/the suite. This topic is about (the launch of) Affiity Publisher, not about other software developers.
  19. No “beats”, just facts like: APu: “hopefully sometime next year” was a big surprise and means not earlier than in 2018 “unfinished” without needed features like a multiline compositor. iAP and iAD: “Affinity Photo and Designer for iPad […] coming in 2017.” “After completing the full suite on the Mac […] we will look into other platforms.” Corporate image is important! If they (Serif) don’t change (communication) errors (on their webpage, …), they will not gain in credibility. One example: Although the error has been reported, they still announce to bring Affinity Photo to Windows.
  20. Seems they want to “finish” AD and AP for iOS first, not as previously stated APu!
  21. It is not unfair that chvon7thal wrote his feelings. But Serif announced “Affinity Publisher coming soon” many times. Last time six days ago. It would be unfair to some purchasers of their apps if it would not come soon.
