  1. → → → HERE ← ← ← Grüße aus der Quadratestadt in die etwas andere Quadratestadt.
  2. We already have “Convert to Curves” or do you mean something like “offset path” again, Igull?
  3. Danke, lieber Alex.
  4. Thanks and just fyi, Patrick: Still unanswered questions since 2015 like “Any news about fixing?”. Almost 30 months ago Serif wrote “this will get fixed and it is a priority” and “wasn't fixed yet because we needed to keep the code stable for the Affinity Photo release”; more than 15 months ago “Expand Stroke will be worked on very soon”. If “Expand Stroke” has not reached the quality of other apps like Inkscape in a few months, probably there will be more questions.
  5. This is why we explained it here. Not all of us have the time to translate, write, upload, make snapshots, create examples, videos, … and it is better to represent an opinion that is secured because multiple users share the same.
  6. Seems to be the reason why users that have been bashed because they don’t want to discuss code reasons they cannot examine but asked for corrections. Now we have the RC and must ask again.
  7. Was already discussed. We are some users that hope that Affinity will be the best solution in future. At least seven professionals have shared the same opinion here.
  8. We used almost the smallest possible object in Inkscape and got a much better result than in AD. Because Serif claims “most precise vector graphic design software available” purchasers expect that “Expand Stroke” produces at least the same good results.
  9. No, you used “perfect fit”. We just like to have (at least) the same accuracy like in Inkscape: 10 points are not enough for that curve.
  10. Our explanations were deleted there … so we tried it with a new thread here.
  11. That vector command should be resolution independently with high accuracy like in other apps (like Inkscape) and should not delete needed points like in the upper example (puny ten points). Afterwards it can be recalculated depending on (output) resolution.
  12. Not really expected/logical that the accuracy of vector commands like “Expand Stroke” depends on the chosen “DPI”. Will this behaviour be corrected?
  13. No(thing has changed), Serif still claims "We’ll be asking you to help us perfect Affinity Publisher when we publish it in beta in 2017”. And since November: no asking about help anymore, but the message “Affinity Publisher Available 2018”.
  14. Welcome here, Greensturm. You posted in “Designer Beta on Mac” (not easy to compare AD with PS**). In AD use the colour picker tool and select “Greyscale” in the colour panel. Perhaps we will get scripting and the possibility to create our individual info panels in AD. Simply create a feature request. **AD has great features in the field of image processing, PS does not have many of those great vector tools of AD.
  15. No. If Serif would use much more space (a great graphical tool!) for structuring, then bigger dialog boxes would not look odd but well designed! It is not a problem of the size of that dialog boxes. The lot of space was not used for design here.
  16. So HEIC import for older/other OS only for ≥1.7 or/and Affinity Pro or/and as an in-app purchase? The license (< 10.13) is expensive?
  17. Because we still have no detailed information how the pictures have been produced, we only can say that the biggest problem source seems to be the designer and the first step should be the correction of typographical errors. David, was this information helpful or do you still have problems? If your texts are too pixelated, simply export them with much more pixels.
  18. Of Course. FYI: We just (unsuccessfully) asked if there will be improvements in the next beta, because there were no further ones in beta 10, so we just illustrated that in other apps like Inkscape there are no such misshapen results when using the same values. The problem also concerns bigger and complex curves and can change with the position/copy of the same curve. We referred back to old posts because we didn’t/don’t have the chance to use AD. The problem still exists in beta 10. Users that notice the inaccuracies late when works are produced can get into trouble. HTH
  19. Thanks for the information. We are in vacation and again: You will get a file. Please be patient until we can use AD again. Or just create a line we proposed six months ago. If Serif is impatient it can use that measurement and gets those reported inaccuracies in less than five seconds.
  20. This would be a very negative art to interpret factual texts, would be no answer of the question “no further tweaks of Expand Stroke?” and no meaningful way to motivate purchasers to help. This bug exists for a long time and was reported many times but it was not corrected completely. This picture illustrates that even free apps don’t have that problem. So we are awkward to ask if we get further tweaks after improvements stopped here? It is because Affinity Designer only has one tool that is named line thingy and would make sense here. You will get a file. Please be patient until we can use AD again. Or just create a line we proposed six months ago. Again: No further tweaks of “Expand Stroke” or will we get the same quality like in other apps in the next beta?
  21. These inaccuracies also occur over 2 pt stroke widths and concern not only simple lines. Affinity Designer is advertised as the most precise vector graphic design software, but in other apps like Inkscape you don’t have these inaccuracies. One gets even different results in AD when repeated with copies/positions. The question was: No further tweaks of “Expand Stroke” or will we get the same quality like in other apps in the next beta?
  22. Sorry, we were of the opinion that so small errors, which were not corrected after two betas, should be reported again to avoid that they will be overlooked.
